Jason was our guide and he was amazing. He is a great guide who knows a lot about wildlife (not only the one in Monteverde but around the world) and he is always eager to answer to our questions. When a person is passionate about what he does everything becomes easy and that's Jason - ask for him!

We had a great evening with Henry in the Santa Elena reserve. The tour is quite a lot more expensive than a group one, it is more personal though. We were lucky and saw an array of creatures- sloth, racoon, kinkajou, viper, scorpion, salamander, toucan....to name a handful. The forest was alive with noise. We had a great time and... More

Andres was an outstanding guide with a wealth of knowledge on both the flora and fauna. His arsenal of high tech tools (NVGs, UV lights, etc.) helped to further enhance the experience in ways I'm not sure any other guide in the area can offer. He was extremely professional and generous with his time. Also his new shop near the... More

We did a halfday tour in Selvatura park in Monteverde with Andy. He is clearly a very knowledgeable guide and he could tell us so much about the foresttypes, plants, trees and birds that we would never have figured out on our own. Add to this a good portion of humor and a very passionate and interresting personality and you... More

We had a half day with Andy. Best value for you money if you really want to see something of the best of Monteverde and get full background on species and kinds of forest. Comment of Matt from 2006 is still counting. Andy is a very pleasant and unique mix between scientist and pura vida! Best regards Richard and Greet.

We did a full day private tour with Forest Alive as we wanted to get a great insight into the Moteverde area and that we did! The day was split visiting Curi Cancha in the morning and Selvatura hanging bridges in the afternoon. Having already done a few walks and experiences in Costa Rica, we were already clear on a... Our guide was awesome...friendly, enthusiastic, chatty, polite. But I did not feel that this excursion was worth the amount of money I paid. We saw the male and female Quetzals (that are apparently a big deal because they are very rare) but not much else. Even the Quetzals were located because some other guides alerted us to their presence. The... More
