Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.

The new Platinum Cinemas are excellent and have very comfortable recliner seats. The popcorn at Como is also far better than the major chains. You can enjoy a nice craft beer or wine or two in the cinema as well if you choose.

Before going to watch the film you can relax with a drink and snack at the bar or relax in the plush foyer. You can also take your wine etc into the cinema. The day we went we were also able to enjoy a free Connoisseur ice cream. Seats are comfortable with good leg room. Enjoyable viewing.

Great place to see a movie. Small cinemas, comfy and cozy. You can take your cocktail or wine into the cinema. Great selection of choc tops (very important). Friendly staff. Park in Como and validate your ticket for $10 parking

Love enjoying a wine in the bar before watching a movie at this cinema. Appeals mostly to adults than kids as th. Voices are for grown ups, makes for a relaxing evening or afternoon. The seats are in need of an upgrade however, they are no longer compatible with the decadence of the rest of the establishment.

Fairly disappointing, I’d have to say. The ambience in the foyer is modern and cold, and unlike Crown Village Gold Class there is no table service and none of the personal attention in terms of ushering patrons to their seats. The cinema was comfortable, but the positioning of the service tables - to the side of each seat rather than in the centre - made it difficult to eat shared food easily. I would also have appreciated a serviette.

It’s a fact, of course, that films shown at Palace are superior to the blockbuster variety shown at Village, so it’s a pity Palace can’t learn from Village Gold and lift its game a little in terms of service.

I really like Palace Como but Platinum is not up to the standard of the regular cinema. It is cold as you can feel the air conditioning blowing on you. The cinema is small and so is the screen. There is nowhere to put a coat or jacket and the staff are constantly coming in interrupting the movie.
If you are going to emulate gold class you need to do it at least as well and unfortunately Platinum doesn't. I'll be going to the regular theatre only from now on.

One gets a sense of a real day out at the Como, the theatrical atmosphere of reception and ticket area, the plethora of leaflets of upcoming festivals, the excellent coffee and wine available. Always a good choice of quality films to enchant and take you away for a couple of hours.Highly recommended. Also close to vibrant Chapel St and great choice of restaurants.

A treat in itself to go to the cinema, super comfortable chairs, gorgeous rich arty decor, great films (great quality international and mainstream films)and nice food you can eat inside the cinema. Great for special film festivals.

For us it’s a very convenient cinema venue to attend.
There’s always a good selection of movies and if you’re interested in International film festivals, there are plenty to select from.
The venue interior is dated and needs a refurbishment as well as in some of cinema interiors.
The cinema seats are comfortable, screen visibility is good and the sound is perfect.
