Main square in Castelmola
Sep. 2020
Nice square but the best are its views over Taormina. Also a nice spot to look for food. Very quiet, in comparison with Taormina.

Stunning views
Sep. 2019
The first part of the town that you come to, this square is beautiful with its patterned stones and the view over Taormina, Etna and the surrounding area is wonderful - it's like you are on the top of the world. Lots of benches to sit and take in the view and the town is pretty with lots of bars and cafes. well worth a visit.

Hub of the town
Jan. 2020
When you arrive in Castelmola by the city bus, this is your first impression of the town and it is an enjoyable one. Beautiful views all around you and then you see the charming little alleyways of the town.

An amazing vantage point on the Ethna Mountain and Taormina towen from the highest point above the towen.
Jun. 2019
The Sant'Antonino Piazza is located at Castelmola's entrance, is the stunning viewpoint towards the Athena Volcano as well as a view of the town of Taoromina and the Gulf. Located In the square is the bus station which brings you to Castelmola. And of course takes you back (if you do not decide to returen by foot). There is also a nice little cafe in the square. To those who arrive in a private car pls. pay attention to parking costs, is a little problematic.

Mountain Top Piazza
May 2019 • Couples
You know that you have reached the entrance to Castlemola when you reach this lovely Piazza.
Wether you walk or drive to Castlemola you will be happy to see this glorious & scenic Piazza. This is the central hub of Castlemola from here you will wind your way round the lovely windy streets of Castlemola.
Enjoy your time there.

Surprisingly unspoiled..
May 2019 • Couples
Quintessential, charming, picturesque, sweet, old world, mountain top town. Need I say more? Surprisingly uncrowded and not very touristic. Views abound from the little restaurants and local bars (don’t miss the notorious Bar Turrisi).
Other things of note, local almond wine, a few worthwhile shops and BEWARE of the rip off DCC (AKA dynamic currency conversion) ATM machine which results in a memorable 20% “ surcharge”. This is Sicily after all.

Beautiful Views and Quaint Shops
May 2018 • Couples
If you make it all the way here, keep in mind that the views are not the only thing worth seeing. There are neat little shops, cafes, and churches to be explored in addition to Castelmola itself. This piazza is essentially the hub for all tourist traffic that come and go. Don't forget to fill your water bottle at the free fountain here. It is delicious cold water!

A quintessential Sicilian town piazza
Apr. 2018 • Couples
This small piazza marks the entrance to a beautiful little Sicilian mountain top town. The drive up is fun, especially in a tour bus, but well worth it. Beautiful views of the coast and Taormina one way and mount Etna the other. Stunning!

Small and quaint
Aug. 2018 • Family
Small piazza with great views to the coast and Taormina. Castelmola is a lovely little village with a slow Italian pace of life, in stark contrast to Taormina. We loved taking an evening stroll here. Our first drive up was interesting considering the height and curving road but after a couple of drives you soon adapt and don't find it quite so daunting. Highly recommended!
