Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don't get me wrong, the history lesson is great, the view is equally impressive (that's why it is where it is, to see as much and as far as you can, and to be visible from as far as possible), the people are nice and willing to answer all your questions, but in my mind, the price is not right!
And, if you're here just for the view, you can get almost the same from the corner of the parking lot 20-30 meters/yards away, at no charge, free!

For 2 Dollars you can walk up El Faro and have a great view over the Island. The restaurant is at the moment closed, but the view is great an you can get ice cool drinks if you need.

Loved the spot, west end is the best. The house was great. Two minute walk to the bars and restaurants in paradise.

For $2.00 each you can climb the el faro (lighthouse) spiral staircase. There are 360 degree beautiful views from the top. The West Bay beach views are breathtaking.
Wonderful photo opportunities from all directions. There is a small gift shop on the ground level also. We spent about 30 to 45 minutes at el faro and then headed across the street to Roatan Rum company for rum cake samples and delicious rum filled drinks before heading to our next stop.

If you looking for a spot to get some fabulous photos of both sides of Roatan make sure you stop here.
View from the upper level of lighthouse is fantastic! Took photos from all sides.
Gift shop also has some knick-knacks made my locals, t-shirts, snacks and nice cold drinks. Clinton was very friendly and welcoming during our visit.
A must stop during your visit to Roatan!
