The walkway near raglan is not worth the drive, time, walk to view this once was spectacular special place. It is shocking how the NZ farmers have been allowed to pollute so many if New Zealand scenic attractions The department of conservation know about the problem and have posted an official sign giving a warning that the dirty brown colour of the water is caused by farm run off pollution, the water unsafe to drink, swimming in (and in all probability unsafe to paddle ankle keep in. )
The sight of this pollution will spoil your day and leave you disappointing and shocking thoughts for months
The water was once crystal clear mountain flowing water that visitors could see the rocky bottom and safe to swimming in.
NZ is no longer Clean Green but Dirty Brown Polluted NZ.

Bridal veil falls is a short drive from Raglan and well worth a visit. It's a short walk from the carpark to the top of the falls and the track is wide and large wheel wheelchair+pushchair friendly.
You get a vertigo inducing view of the falls from the end of the track which finishes at the top of the falls, then it's a short walk to the next viewing platform to see the falls from the side. No stairs yet...
The real stair challenge begins on the way to the mid and lower viewing platform. Over 200 to the bottom! If you can do them you will be rewarded with a magical waterfall cascading into a deep pool surrounded with lush, quiet bush.

No signposting at the entrance about distance or accessibility but we were aware from the DOC website that the track was meant to be wheelchair accessible. It was a good well formed track and ended at the top of the falls where there are two platforms to view the falls. Able bodied members of the group can then brave the 261 steps down (and then back up) to view the falls from the bottom which is well worth it!

What a stunning location. An easy 5-10 minute walk from our car and approx 11km from Raglan, we discovered the two viewing platforms at the top of the waterfall. The walk there showed off mushrooms, plants and trees in their beautiful surroundings. We took stunning photos.
Surprising how much power is in the fall from the trickle stream leading to it.

The falls themselves are lovely. Unfortunately, the area is not safe. We were there on a Sunday, middle of the afternoon and at the top viewing deck came across a group of six who were doing dugs and were as high as kites. Two young men who were capable of walking, followed us to our car and were menacing and aggressive. I had two children with me and having visited places around the globe, have never felt so unsafe. We left as fast as we could. I would be very careful visiting these falls. Sad and disappointing for NZ.

I used to swim here as a child but turned up recently with some international tourists to see that the place has turned into a dairy farm cattle sewer. Completely embarrassed after raving about it. Expectations were dashed. Shameful that New Zealanders allow farmers to continue trashing our waterways like this. I keep hearing that dairy farmers are the backbone of this country. What they are is a blight!

Easy short walk in, falls themselves were lovely to look at. We didnt take the stairs down to the bottom but have previously, they are a little challenging to come back up. Highly recommend this activity fir most age groups

Waterfalls. Eh! Are they really worth a visit, so hohum. Well, I was wrong to think that. I’ve seen loads of boring waterfalls, and some OK ones. Even Huka Falls leaves me a bit underwhelmed. But these Bridal Veil
Falls are true world class. Beautiful, inspiring, soothing all at once. It’s like a lost Avatar world once you’re there. If you go, make sure you walk all the way to the bottom to get the best view of this natural wonder.

There are signs to the falls from the main highway so you just need to follow them to get here. The parking area is quite large but it did fill up when we were leaving. After heading down the walkway with the entrance sign there are public toilets available. After an easy walk through the bush you get to the top observation deck, just follow the signs when you get to the T junction. This area is right beside the top of the falls. It has a nice view of the area as well as the viewing platform down below.
If you head the other direction, you get to three other observation areas at varying levels of the waterfall. The top two have views of the waterfall from the side while the final one is at the bottom of the falls. There are a lot of stairs from the top observation deck to the bottom of the falls. There are information placards along the sides of the walk.
the bottom area is quite nice. There is a seating area where you can look directly up at the falls or a side area with cover. It was nice to just sit and enjoy the view of the falls and the surrounding forest.
The walk to the top of the falls was really easy. It did get a bit harder going up and down the stairs but most people were able to do it. It was a nice place for a visit.

When you arrive at the carpark, it says, walk 10 minutes to the falls. This is to the top of the falls. If you like to see the falls from the base you need to go 261 steps down and of course up again if you go back to your car. But it is worth it. The falls are well sign posted. Nice and free attraction close to Raglan, 12 KM away

Hi, would you please be able to advise how much time you spent or need to do the longest track and back?
Written 29 July 2017
As others have said, it is a short track, but it depends on your fitness level as to how long it would take. You could easily do it within 30 minutes, but could allow longer for just enjoying. Enjoy!
