The Rex has one huge screen set in a glorious 1938 art-deco proscenium with the sharpest film projection and clearest non-booming sound anywhere in the world. Throughout, its seating is big and soft. It has been called luxurious. It is better. It is civilized. It reminds us of what we have long stopped expecting from public buildings.

wonderful seats. nice wine and pleasant people. We always get in on the raffle. We last saw Back to Bordeaux - an innocuous but very watchable French film. Even if you don't like the film you can snooze. All the seats are ok though the...More

We love The Rex. It is is unique: stylish, comfortable and an absolutely amazing cinema. Cinema as a word does not really describe this beautiful, atmospheric venue. Berkhamsted is so privileged to have such a lovely venue at its heart.

Beautiful cinema with a wonderful atmosphere. Cheese and wine whilst you relax and watch a movie. We love how there is a mix of old and new films. Booking in advance is needed especially for the popular movies.

What a wonderful place! Came here on a recommendation from my in-laws...absolutely brilliant. If you can, opt for the seats with the table at the front, there's a bar there where you can order food & drinks throughout the film & makes it a more...More

Just have to keep trying, there are 3 persons at the box office, usually having to sell on door, print tickets for those collecting, take calls and general enquiries......so be patient

We park at the other end of Berkhampsted in the car park next to Waitrose. Then walk up through the High Street. Always found a space and charges are reasonable.
