The Rex has one huge screen set in a glorious 1938 art-deco proscenium with the sharpest film projection and clearest non-booming sound anywhere in the world. Throughout, its seating is big and soft. It has been called luxurious. It is better. It is civilized. It reminds us of what we have long stopped expecting from public buildings.

A frequent visitor to both the Rex and the Odyssey will now not go anywhere else to see a film. All cinemas should be like this

The old cinema back to its former glory. Great "old cinema" surroundings with modern touches (like a bar and pretty decent projection).

Very civilised. Can have a drink in the bar and in the cinema. Seats comfy and lots of leg room. Unfortunately did not enjoy the film.

Came here recently to see the Greatest Showman. Location is great with plenty of parking options around. Building is quirky and the wine and cheese platter is definitely worth a try. Seats are comfy and luxurious leather style making the whole experience more grand. The...More

Excellent surroundings, best cinema around. They even supply cushions, although very comfortable seating, and usherette to seat you there. Would go every week if not for very limited parking, I live in Aylesbury, but much prefer going there even though I can walk to my...More

With it's ultra-comfortable seats, great bar, friendly staff and excellent quality sound and picture, there surely can't be many cinemas in the UK as good as this one.

I'm sure the Rex has a deserved fan base, but if you've yet to go, you really must. We had a downstairs table with drinks and snacks from the bar and watched Darkest Hour from the comfort of our spaceous swivel armchairs. Met a fun...More

Just have to keep trying, there are 3 persons at the box office, usually having to sell on door, print tickets for those collecting, take calls and general enquiries......so be patient

We park at the other end of Berkhampsted in the car park next to Waitrose. Then walk up through the High Street. Always found a space and charges are reasonable.
