The Rex has one huge screen set in a glorious 1938 art-deco proscenium with the sharpest film projection and clearest non-booming sound anywhere in the world. Throughout, its seating is big and soft. It has been called luxurious. It is better. It is civilized. It reminds us of what we have long stopped expecting from public buildings.

This place is a real gem. It's quirky and a really interesting place to visit unlike the mainstream cinemas you have. The staff genuinely care about your experience.

Love the decor in this cinema, it had a great atmosphere. The seats were comfy and all the staff very friendly. Went out for an evening with my mum and she loved it too. Definitely a must visit if your visiting Berko.

Saw Blade Runner 2049, which was a good film, but it could been an hour less! The cinema was fabulous and whilst James stumbles through his evenings musings on films being shown its all an essential part of the experience. One to watch: the sound...More

The Rex is just the most fantastic venue to watch a film. The ambience is just wonderful, the old school character and charm is something you do not get very often nowadays. The tables with the low lights, the comfy seats, the bar serving little...More

Absolutely beautiful place to visit, shame there is no parking. Restaurant is supposed to be amazing but hard to get booked. The owner who does a speech in the beginning is so funny and dry in humour.

wonderful seats. nice wine and pleasant people. We always get in on the raffle. We last saw Back to Bordeaux - an innocuous but very watchable French film. Even if you don't like the film you can snooze. All the seats are ok though the...More

Just have to keep trying, there are 3 persons at the box office, usually having to sell on door, print tickets for those collecting, take calls and general enquiries......so be patient

We park at the other end of Berkhampsted in the car park next to Waitrose. Then walk up through the High Street. Always found a space and charges are reasonable.
