My wife and I wanted to try a hike in St. Lucia that was a bit closer to where we were staying so we scheduled to hike Pimmard. Our guide was Germaine and he was easily the highlight of the trip. He talked us through some of the fauna, wildlife, and history of the area. It was a bit rainy and we really appreciated Germaine's realism in recommending we don't climb all the way to the top in the slippery conditions. Instead we checked out various viewpoints, got some great photos, and swapped stories with Germaine. He had us laughing the entire time and is truly a genuine guide! If you want an authentic, chill, caribbean experience you will love this quick trip!

We booked the hike via our Sandals resort, and our tour guide Germaine (or Jermaine?) was so very funny, and we were laughing throughout the entire hike! The hike itself is really fun (although it is not your usual Sunday walk in the park). Germaine was so funny and also gave us interesting insights to St Lucia. The first photo is the view when you get there, the second the Mt Pinard, and the third the trail. We took 1 h and 45 min altogether with photo breaks, but Germaine said it is usually 2 hours. We went for an earlier hike at 8.45AM and am glad we did before the sun hit us too hard!

My husband and I wanted to do a hike in St. Lucia that was a little challenging but not over the top and relatively close to where we were staying. This hike did not disappoint. King was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the island and was super helpful during the steeper parts of the hike. This hike was so worth it to see the beautiful 360 view of the northern part of the island. Make sure to ask for King as your tour guide. He is the best!

We walked to this hike from Bay Gardens Hotel. We did have a guide (David - he was our water taxi driver to Pigeon Island) but you don't really need one - although the path is steep and can be very muddy and slippery after a rain, so if you aren't a confident hiker, having a guide is nice (and you can support some local entrepreneurs!). We reached the top in about 45min from the base, so you can do this hike before breakfast (and that's a good time to do it as it gets hot quickly!). Wear hiking shoes or sneakers not flip flops. You may need to use ropes and scramble a bit.

Beautiful views but definitely challenging, I would recommend starting out before 8:30. If your resort is in Rodney Bay you don’t need a guide, the trail is easy to find. You can walk to the end of the beach right behind Marie’s Fish Shack.
Do wear good hiking shoes and plan for 90 minutes.
It was hazy the day we hiked but the views are still spectacular.

Head to Reduit beach and turn left. The trail starts just behind the beach shack. There's a no entry sign that most people ignore. This leads to a wide rough trail so wear good strong shoes like trainers not flip flops or sandals Take water too. This took us about 2 hrs round trip from the trail start. The trail leads up to a gazebo and lovely viewpoint. The gazebo belongs to a company doing Segway tours. To your left you'll see banisters heading up a steep slope to a lovely pool full of small fish. From here the trail gets steeper and rougher. The hard part starts with four ropes to haul yourself up the 55 degree (approx) slippery rock face. After that it's a slow climb making sure you get good footing and hand holds up to the summit! I'm 64 and had an operation a month before this so it took me about 30-40 minutes to the top. The view is great from Rodney bay in the North you can also see Martinique and Castries in the south. Be very careful going back down as there are many slippery bits and it's easy to lose the trail on some of the twists and turns.

It was not what I expected. The hike consists of rope climbing. My friends were much younger than me they did it with ease. Getting to the top was definitely worth it. The views when you finally get there are amazing. We had lunch at a nearby restaurant called SPINAKERS. The lobster meal is to die for. Be sure to try their muddslides.

Fun hike, was a nice half day getaway from laying around at the resort. Took about two hours round trip with two breaks. Not too difficult for a twenty something with hiking shoes. I highly recommend King as your tour guide, he was great. Bring lots of water!

My husband and I booked this hike on our honeymoon, as we stayed at Sandals La Toc. We chose this hike because it was described by the woman at our front desk as "moderate" in comparison to the extremely hard hike, "Mt Piton". It was also only $60 a person and took 3.5 hours, with travel time. Versus "Mt Piton Hike", which was $165 a person and was literally the entire day (this hike provides you lunch though).
The Mt. Pimard hike left at 10:45 am and returned about 2:30 or so that afternoon. We went with another couple and a family with two children. I would not advise bringing children on this hike. It begins as a trail and it very easy. Then, you begin hiking and climbing up steep rocks, some so steep that you need a rope to help you up. Our tour guide allowed us to stop often, as the other people we were with did not hike frequently. My husband and I are very active, but my heart was definitely beating fast and we were covered in sweat by the time we got to the top.
It took probably 45 minutes to 1 hour to get up to the top. The top was amazing! So pretty. We took photos up there and I used my GoPro throughout the hike to capture everything.
Our tour guide, King, who works for 'Lucian Style Experiences', was really knowledgeable and talked to us throughout the hike about the history of Saint Lucia, by showing us a bunker from the war (and scaring me in it!). He also helped greatly with the children to ensure they did not fall during the hike.
I would recommend this hike to individuals that like the outdoors, want a challenge, don't want to spend their entire day on an excursion, don't want to spend a lot of money on an excursion and appreciate nature.
When you get to the top--you'll see a good part of Saint Lucia (housing, resorts, shopping centers, etc), the ocean, and the picturesque mountains.
At the end of the hike, King showed us a Coy pond and allowed us all to put our feet in it. The fish bit at our feet, biting off the dead skin! It was a funny feeling, and a neat experience.
Don't forget to pack a water, your camera/phone to take pictures at the top, tip for the tour guide, and BUG SPRAY!!

Fun and easy hike. No guide required. Just follow the trail. Fantastic views! There are ropes to assist if needed.
