One of the highlights of our river cruise was the passage through the Wachau Valley. Small villages, church spires, impossibly terraced hillside, and old castles. So much to look at as we floated down the river. I took a seat on the top deck and...More

On a riverboat cruise we went through Wachau Valley. It was amazing! The sights were crazy from the homes, farms, other structures, vineyards, shorelines, swans and other river traffic. Breathtaking and my favorite stretch of the river from the Black Sea to Nuremberg.

I traveled on a river boat and was charmed and horrified by the thousands of years of history in this place. On the boats they have GPS listening devices in English so you can hear the story as you pass by the sights.

We took a train from Vienna to the Wachau valley, then biked to two different wineries for wine tastings. Had an amazing lunch. Grant was the perfect guide!
