Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing! Great for kids and adults alike! Really well maintained tracks, beautiful scenery and great shuttle service from the bottom of the tracks up to the top- and all in the beautiful Barrington, run by a wonderfully environmentally friendly local business- win-win! Highly recommend😊 And don’t forget to stay at the campground and do white water rafting too!

The admin - polished and straight forward. The faff of waivers and legals is quick and uncomplicated. The uplift ? Spot on. Shane’s reggae and 90’s beats make the troop carrier fun on the trip up. The trail head briefing is good / brief. The riding ? Good! The trails are fast and flowy, and lots of fun. If it’s not too greasy - go up top. Great fun !

Wow.... The guys have done such and awesome job of the racks. Steep challenging and so fun. Shuttle driver Shane added such a vibe to the day with his party speaker pumping out the tunes all day long.

Camping on the river is stunning. I'LL BE BACK!!!!!

Keep up the great work Barrington Bike Park.

Naomi, Shane and Marta were all super friendly and helpful (especially delivering firewood after hours!). The grounds were level, well cared for and plenty of space for all. The toilet and hot!!! showers were clean and well maintained. Finally as a middle-aged mum with little experience, Shane gave good advice (drop the seat down and put your weight over the back wheel) which made me feel heard but not patronised. The green trail was perfect for me although I did get brave and try “Crazy Train” too, leaving my “crazy” sons plenty of blue options with the black options on their bucket list. I highly recommend this park, and I haven’t even talked about the joy in waking up with a river running by :-)

We spent 2 days riding the trails at Barrington Bike Park. The trails are a good mix of intermediate and challenging. The black trails from the top are definitely for the more experience riders.

The shuttle service works very well and we were not left waiting for the next shuttle. The staff are friendly and welcoming - will definitely be back.

Brian Kilby, as the founder and owner of Barrington Outdoor and Adventure Centre, with his Team have created a unique outdoor experience in this beautiful part of the NSW mid-coast hinterland. Yes, the MTB Park is an exciting purpose-built destination in itself, but combined with camping at 'The Steps' (one of the best riverside private campgrounds I've ever enjoyed in Australia), it's a perfect place to extend the fun (tubing down the rapids on the Barrington - right next to your campsite), or chill by the river or your campfire, amongst the soothing sound of the river, surrounded by trees and birdsong. And with well-planned camp zones, you always feel like you have space even during busy periods. Complete with upgraded amenities, it's like glamping but still with a wilderness feel.
Brian has invested much time. effort and money in building the Barrington Bike Park, and his environmentally conscious approach is helping return much of the ex-pastoral land back to it's natural rainforest state, with plantings, weed removal, and practices that visitors who favour ecotourism will appreciate and enjoy. Brian is also an important local employer, and his happy and helpful team are also keen members of the mountain biking community. Their system of shuttling riders back up the mountain in troopies worked well, and the wait (despite a busy day) was never long, and always a good chance to chat with other bikers during the uplift, sharing experiences of the different trails.
Brian is planning further green and blue trail development in the Park, and I recommend it for both experienced and confident new riders. I'm bringing my teenagers next time, who'll froth over the technical trails, while I'll continue to enjoy (as a middle-aged biker) the flow trails through lush rainforest and out onto open grassland, that were super-fun to rail-through with confidence. I never found the steepness intimidating, and would happily do my favourite, 'Crazy Train', all day with it's well designed and engineered berms and features.
It's great value for the day, and for a whole weekend or more, when you look at the complete experience inclusive of camping at The Steps. A river swim has never felt better after a day's mountain biking!
