About
CherryHill Orchards is a 3rd generation family orchard with a passion for growing the world’s greatest cherries. Our story began in 1940 when our grandfather, George Riseborough, planted his first cherry trees in Victoria’s fertile Yarra Valley. Over 75 years later, our family still proudly carries on this cherry growing tradition with diligence and passion to produce Australia’s finest cherries. Today, their Yarra Valley orchard has grown to be one of Australia’s most loved cherry-picking destinations. With over 13,000 cherry trees, a cherry café serving their famous cherry ice-cream, picnic facilities and breathtaking views, it’s the perfect day trip for family, friends and larger groups. CherryHill Orchards is conveniently located just one hour’s drive from Melbourne in the beautiful facilities and multi-lingual staff make them the orchard of choice for international visitors.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful experience for every one of all ages to come and visit the CherryHill Orchards. I visited the Coldstream location on the weekend which is nicely equipped with modern facilities and pathways that are accessible friendly. It is recommended that you purchase your tickets online beforehand. The weekend rates are higher than on the weekdays. The tickets are for entry only. The website is also quite accessible and has great information for you to peruse. The process was fairly easy and your tickets are scanned when you check-in. You are given a bucket with a bag to place all the cherries you would like to pick. You are allowed to eat as much of the cherries as your heart and stomach could desire within the allocated time of 2 hours. Shuttle buses are in operation as the orchards can get quite busy. The shuttle buses take you to and from the main area and the orchards. You can pay for your cherries at cherry picking area or at the main area. There is a cafe, merchandise shop, food vendors, and plenty of tables to have a picnic.
I had a lovely time with friends and would definitely recommend to everyone. I also want to do a special shoutout to the wonderful worker Ben who assisted in jumpstarting my car when it decided not turn on! Thanks Ben, you're a legend!

We paid $30 to attend the Cherry Blossum Festival, we thought this was a little expensive to see some trees.
There was only white blossum which was a but disappointing and the food at the event was very expensive.
Will not be attending next year.

I don’t know why there is a cost for the entrance fee. What are you paying for? There is nothing there but an ice cream shop (you have to pay extra for that) and picnic tables. No cherries come with the entrance fee, those are extra, paid for by the kilo. So why pay the entrance fee, you get nothing for it. May as well go to a u-pick without a fee.
We entered expecting food trucks as advertised but they are only on weekends. That’s false advertising. We went a couple of years ago too when they gave a bottle of cherry drink on entry but not this time. There was no atmosphere, unfortunately it was just a very very touristy attraction where you feel hearded with the masses.
The day we went there they ran shuttle buses to the orchard. You can only book in for a certain time slot and we wasted 30mins of that time sitting around waiting for the shuttle bus.
I don’t think it’s value for money as you can go to other u pick places and not pay an entrance fee.

Hi there,
Thank you for your feedback.
The cost for admission allows you to eat and enjoy as many cherries as you would like during your two-hour picking session, any cherries that you would like to take home are charged per kilo.
The entry fee also covers operating costs such as customer facilities, shuttle buses to safely transport you around the orchard, staff costs to maintain the orchard and to grow our delicious cherries.
We’re sorry to hear that there was no food vendor on site during your visit, there were some occasions last season where food trucks that we had booked to attend were unavailable and we were unable to replace them at short notice.
The two-hour cherry-picking session is your allocated time for cherry-picking in the orchard. Guests are welcome to stay after cherry-picking to enjoy our picnic area, garden games and onsite facilities for as long as you wish.
Whilst we appreciate your comments, we are unaware of any U-pick cherry orchards that don’t require an entrance fee and we believe that our pricing is fair.
Regards,
The team at CherryHill Orchards

A great place for a visit and some fruit picking. The staff were all really helpful and enthusiastic. The fruit picking was great fun and the surroundings are lovely. The cherry ice-cream is also worth a try once you get back from the picking.

Not your typical fruit picking farm. The staff customer service was excellent. Everyone was just so smiley and helpful. I especially loved their delicious cherry ice-cream while sitting on the lawn to enjoy the views of the Yarra Valley. We bought home 2 full bags of fresh dark cherries!

we sponsored for 5 overseas students who had been in lockdown, but one of our group had a medical emergency on the day, but no refund was offered, this lack of compassions spoilt what should have been a great experience.
this one person would not have been missed given the number of people present
so if you take a group do not expect any considerations for no shows for whatever reason!

Great day out from Melbourne. Being from Queensland I had never seen cherry trees before. Very organised place, my friend booked online (you have to, they weren't taking walk ins). A bus takes you in to the orchid to were the cherrys are ripe for picking. You can eat as many as you like while picking and hop on the bus back when you are finished with your picking. They also have a cafe & toilets back at the entrance.

Hi Sandie, thanks for your message :) we would recommend approximately 1 - 1.5 hours at our Orchard for cherry picking. We do also have a cafe, lawn games, complimentary face painting for children and food trucks for you to enjoy.
