I took this walk a couple of months ago with the family. The river is quite wide here where the river runs ENE from Navan to Slane. An easy place to park is Boyne Rd Ferganstown, Navan. The walk is really peaceful.

Ramparts is a great walk for all ages. It’s very flat and an easy walk but you can go a great distance (16km return) if you want to get your exercise for the day in. Great views of the River Boyne and the canal parallel...More

I walk this path most days,it's one of my favourite walks,it's amazing not many use it. I see the same people, all friendly, to me its a form of meditation, really beautiful.

Started walking at bridge in Slane, near the old entrance to Slane Castle. The Boyle was to our right. We walked on the towpath along water for about a mile and half. Lots of birds, mostly pheasant, heron. Cows in pasture. Highlight is great view...More
