This was so worth the visit!
This is a little way north of Stanthorpe, but the instant we walked inside the cool dark interior we were wowed. Its decor is somewhat eclectic, but broadly late Victorian, early 20th century. Oak tables, silverware and china, painting, sculptures, masks, crossbows, you name it, it’s probably there.
We were greeted by Jessie, who quickly provided us with a glass of bubbles, before taking us on a grief tour of the vines. We then sat down for our (pre-booked) 5 course degustation lunch, with a wine match. This was fabulous, with each course being delicious and well-paired with seven wines, which were presented in a variety of old and new style glasses. The wines were all very good.
All too soon it was over (actually it was 1.5 hours), and we left on a high, having thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We highly recommend this Vine/Dine experience, and would certainly do it again.

A dog friendly cellar door, that accommodated all of my questions and adjusted what was offered during the wine tasting based on my feedback.
Rob couldn't have done more to be informative, patient and a great guide as we tasted the light flight and full bodied experience. The wines we chose sat at around the $28 mark which is higher than I would normally pay, but according to my husband, who knows more about wines than me, these were the best he has had since arriving in Australia nearly 15 years ago.
They have a reward scheme and we look forward to stocking up again when we visit in June and attending the rewards dinner in Brisbane in November.

Called in for an unplanned visit on our way out of Stanthorpe headed for the Gold Coast, so glad we did. Beautiful building with open fire places, excellent food and wine served by very knowledgeable staff. Lunch included a short tour of the vineyard, didn't want to leave and will definitely be back again. Therese and Robert have done a wonderful job here, well worth a visit.

We were a group of 6 that arrived on Friday afternoon for a wine tasting. The lady who did the wine tasting was not very friendly, and we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience to her. But this is not the reason for the 1 star. We have been to many many wine tastings, and we have never had such tiny, minuscule pourings offered for each wine. When you are paying $10 per person to taste the wines, you would expect at least a more generous pour. There was literally only one small sip. You could not even have a second sip to really taste the wine. We were not offered any water and so we left feeling very unimpressed and ripped off. There are many other places to go in the Stanthorpe region that are more generous when they pour wine for you to taste. I would give this one a miss!

Hello Lynette, As you can see from our other reviews, your experience was an anomaly and we are very sorry that your time with us wasn't great. We are attempting to work out who served you so that we can counsel them to do better. We normally do have water on the bar and if it wasn't there you only had to ask.
Just for our information: Tasting sizes are pretty standard at around 15 ml. The aim is to try the wine and still be able to drive etc. I would be shocked if we poured less than this. If you aren't purchasing wines then the $10 not only covers the cost of wine but also the wages of the person behind the bar. We normally taste 6 wines which is about 90ml - about two thirds of a $12 glass of wine ($8) and a tasting takes at least 1/2 an hour so you are paying the staff member $4 per hour - six of you together, a generous $24 per hour. I wouldn't say that is extravagant.
We are a small family business and whilst you may believe your harsh words are justified you are probably not really aware of the employment and economic impacts you can have, I hope you teach a little more compassion to our younger generation.
Cheers

Thank you Therese and all of your team for a wonderful lunch experience.
From the moment we contacted you about the lunch booking until leaving after enjoying our time with you on the day, everything was excellent.
The tour through the vines was informative, interesting, and entertaining. You shared your knowledge and passion for all things wine related in a way that we could all follow and your mix of traditional and innovative ways of growing your grapes is amazing.
We loved the elegance and history of your beautiful building which is a perfect place to enjoy fine wines and dining.
The five courses and their paired wines were outstanding and again the descriptions of each element provided by you and chef and the accompanying anecdotes were captivating and really put our taste buds on notice.
All the attention to detail made for a perfect experience for us. It was so hard to pick a favourite course or wine!
But so easy to know that we would be taking home a selection of wines along with the lovely memories from our visit to the Heritage Estates. We plan to visit again and highly recommend others visit as well.
Kind regards
Eileen, Marion, Alan and Ian

From the moment we arrived at Heritage Estate Winery we were treated like old friends returning home. Michelle explained our tasting and dining choices then settled us in with a glass of bubbles. We soaked up the ambience on Chesterfields with light playing on Crystal glasses and vases, whilst Vivaldi’s Four Seasons serenaded in the background.
Shortly afterwards we were warmly greeted by the Owner Therese who took us on our guided winery tour. After a leisurely stroll through the vineyards and roses, we were escorted back to our table overlooking the vines for the 5 course degustation with matching wines.
If I had more time, I’d rave about every tiny little detail but I’ll leave you a few surprises to thrill and delight first hand.
Suffice to say, Chef Chris is a genius. Each course was perfectly cooked, ingeniously balanced and most importantly supremely delicious. My husbands favourite was the Red Emperor and mine the Beef Cheeks. In fact the food was so good we returned 3 days later for duck a l’orange and emu balls from the A la carte menu.
Now for the wines. No wonder they win so many awards! Matt’s favourite was the Vermentino and although he tried others, at the end of our trip he called it the winner. The Syrah came in at Number 1 for me and their Moonshine Madness ‘espresso martini’ liqueur came home with us too for perfect Affogatos at home. Naturally we joined the wine club.
Highly recommend a visit to experience luxurious Olde World charm and ambience, wonderful service, fabulous five star food and award winning wines.

What an absolute joy! Thank you for having us! This place oozes all the grandness of visiting your fancy Aunty (ie: beautifully set table, table floral arrangements) and the genuine warmth of a country greeting. Thank you for explaining why an exquisite rose bush is planted with each vine row and preparing a yummy paring of delicious food with your thoughtfully curated wine. You obviously love what you do and that enjoyment is contagious

We were a group of old friends getting together for a long deserved catch up and to celebrate a lot of sixtieth birthdays, we chose here for lunch and wine tasting. The moment we walked in you could feel the warmth and class of the venue, not to mention that the open fire place set the tone. We all had the five course meal with matching wines - exceptional. The food was simply brilliant, and the wines perfectly matched. The staff were friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate. Oh, and the price was was also great, you want get this quality of food and wine in a city for anywhere near this price.

Attended the Heritage Estate Winery to experience the Degustation evening. Terese and Rob are the consummate hosts, welcoming the twenty guests, facilitating conversations and coordinating the evening. The menu was both delicious and exciting, enhanced by the selection of wines, all being introduced and explained. This was an outstanding event, the warm, friendly atmosphere due in no small part to our hosts and their team.
We spent two nights on site in the excellent two bedroom chalet. Well appointed, clean, extremely roomy with a great log fire and outside relaxing furniture it was a magnificent enhancement of our experience.
A weekend such as we enjoyed should be on everyone’s “must do” list.
