Coldsmoking food courses. We regularly host one day practical courses on food smoking. On this course you will learn the basics of smoking your own food. We cover both the practical and theoretical aspects of this wonderful craft. The one day course includes how to make and use a cold smoker, hot smoking, sourcing wood, brining & salting, Health & Safety, producing smoke and smoking food. During the day we will be smoking up to eight different kinds of food from cheese to fish and from olives to eggs. We also host a range of other classes including Sausage Making, Meat Curing & Charcuterie and Cheese making. For future course dates please visit the website for details.

I am really hard to buy a gift for but this was something special.The fact that the course was on my birthday made it even better. I love traditional cooking methods and am already an avid smoker (not the tobacco kind) and have made some bacon using you tube as guidance. Brilliant day with Turan at Coldsmoking. Just when you think you know quite a bit about food and cooking and you're part of the gourmet cognoscenti along comes something new and different. As this was bought as a surprise gift by family we really didn't know what to expect from the day. The day allowed me to discover the transformative effects of heat and the type of wood smoke on meat, fish & chesses, flavouring and tenderising them, it was equal parts art and science. I went on the meat curing and brining course in April 2016 with a group of friends. It was a brilliant and easy introduction to the subject with (importantly) a lot of tasting opportunities!
