Very beautiful view. There is a trail around Lake and would recommend to hike around the lake. The view is as beautiful as any other place in Arunachal. You can see it from the main road but to experience the real beauty give good 1-2 hrs to this place to hike

The most silent place i found on earth is the PTSO lake. I only had seen a kind of a lake in my dreams before and found it to be in real when i visited PTSO lake.
I would say pls see the pics uploaded by me with this review and experience the view.
I visited in OCT2011 when Tawang is at its full bloom, after the monsoon. The cleanest blue sky, flying clouds, panoramic landscapes, blue water of the lake and multicolored orchids on the slopes created the rainbow of landscapes. And the silence and isolation of the place would make you feel the heaven on earth.
this visit needs to be included in the day trip of Tawang.

PTSO lake for short as it is known in the town, this is an excellent attraction, at half way between Tawang and Bum La. I had a chance to visit this beautiful lake very early morning in October, 2013. The whole scene was just exotic, clouds right at you, touching you, embracing you, very silent waters of lake, no disturbance of any kind as there is no habitation there, no animals, no birds, no human beings, entire beautiful scenery for yourself. It was simply out of the world experience.
The colours of water, clouds, sky, trees, mountains are simply overwhelimg, I wish I was a painter and I would have painted the beauty around me. As I do not have painting talent, I loved taking photographs and I would cherish the whole experience for whole of my life.
Reaching there from Tawang is difficult, as roads are in bad shape. At moments you hold your breath because of the extreme incline, vehicle on 4X4 and you being entirely dependent on the skills of the driver, who are generally good and experienced. On the way one can see different shades of beauty.
As in early morning of October month, it can be extremely cold, one should be sufficiently clothed in warm clothes.

Pangang Teng Tso or PT Tso as it is locally known, is a high altitude lake that is located at around 12,000 feet in the Eastern Himalayas of Arunachal Pradesh. Its name literally means grassy meadow. This serene looking lake is located amidst sensational natural beauty with snow capped mountains surrounding it on all sides. It is situated at about 23 kms from the city of Tawang,
This beautiful lake is one of picturesque tourist spots of the region. The lake is known for its indescribable serenity. A pathway is built all around the lake and there are beautiful covered sheds from where you can enjoy the beauty of the lake. The lake is considered holy by the local people.
When we visited in the month of May, the wind chill factor was quite high. It was difficult to take a hike around the lake. Hence we had to content ourselves by taking in the view of the lake from the roadside.
P T Tso is a must visit for anyone who ventures to Tawang.

Pankang Teng Tso Lake (also known as P.T. Tso) is one of the most interesting lakes surrounded by the brilliance and beauty of Mother Nature. This lake is surrounded by a vivid backdrop of the snow-clad Himalayan Mountains and gushing cool waters of the rivers. In fact, the entire Tawang is a major tourist destination and it hosts a perfect blend of adventure tourism. During visit to P T So lake you are surrounded by calm water, quite meandering clouds, wet snow-covered forests and sweet chirping of birds.
A popular tourist attraction Pankang Teng Tso Lake is indeed, especially for its tranquil setting and interesting places around. Getting to Pankang Teng Tso lake takes 17 km road trip amidst white back drop . This place is famous in Arunachal Pradesh is because you can find two distinct ambiences, while it remains cool, quite , white fluffy snow covered surroundings in winter , it is very pleasant with blue lapis flowers in summers.

This entire trip beyond Tawang to Bumla and Madhuri Lake is just too exciting and breath taking, it leaves you desiring for more, every few hundred meters there is a lake and wild flowers all over the place. It is so attractive all over that one feels like spending entire day or more out here.

Tawang area has 108 lakes and this is one of the most beautiful lakes in that area. I would suggest you to go here in the morning rather than while coming back from Bum La. The colors will look very blue till early afternoon. There are nice paved path next to the Lake.

this lake scene is simply heavenly.
it is situated directly on road to Y-junction/Bum la- pass/Madhuri lake.
this is the nearest to the tawang town, which is fully covered by snow. the scenery is extremely beautiful and surreal.
the lake itself, located below the main road is just beyond description.
it is much more beautiful than the much-hyped madhuri lake at a far more distant location.
the only lake which can match the beauty of this lake in india , is the lake in leh.
this is the best thing to see in tawang,in my opinion. if you have time and can resist and enjoy the chilling cold,go to the lake from the main road through snow walking and it will be a life time experience.
just beautiful, beyond description.

It’s a beautiful lake (also known as PTso Lake) and is around 17 km ahead of tawang towards Y Junction - Bumla Pass or S Lake/Madhuri Lake. It is at a height of 12746 ft and surrounded by mountains. The lake is mesmerizing and spend some time if possible. Foreign tourist are allowed to go upto this lake but not beyond it. The lake was frozen when we visited it in Feb. The weather had been clear and sunny in the morning when we had visited it at 9 but it was snowing heavily around 2 pm when we returned from Sangster/Madhuri lake and could not take good pictures. The best time to visit it is summers and the path leading upto the lake has rhododendrons flowers around it.
