for me it was more like a forest than a sanctuary. i could not find a single orchid in bloom. may be we visited during off season. there was not a single soul at site. it felt like waking through a forest.

For a sanctuary it is not maintained that well nor do you see a lot of orchids. When we reached there, there was no one at the gate, not any one around the sanctuary. we just saw one person cutting grass and he hardly bothered to glance at us. There are a lot of orchid plants, but not in bloom.... More

This is a government centre housing a few variety of orchids but with typical apathy and neglect and no one to show you around or explain.

No one would have imagined that one could find 1000 varieties of Orchid in one place. Just colorful and fantastic place to be in. Spend time in the serenity and in amidst the bouquet of 1000 orchids.

This sanctuary is approx 30km before Bhalulpong if you are coming from Bomdila and is worth a stop. You will find several species of orchids in nursery. Since we had gone in the Feb - not the right season for orchids - we could only spot 2-3 orchids in bloom but still a worthy stop over. This is different from... More

Sessa Orchid sanctuary and research centre are located very close to Bhalukpong gate. The drive from Bhalukpong to Sessa is mesmerizing with the Kameng flowing on one side and high hills covered with thick forest on the other. We first reach the Sessa Orchid research centre which is a small well maintained area on the banks of the river. They... More
