Nothing much to see

It is a very old temple ruin with some of the intricate carvings on pillars. Now it was taken over by Archeological survey but it needs a better maintainance.

We visited Da Parbatia ... I understand the need to protect what is remaining, however, constructing a roof in the manner it has been, is a disappointment ...

Do not expect much to see here. It is a old temple ruin with some intricate carvings in some of the pillars and structures that are still there.

After years of seeming neglect this place is now being looked after by the Indian Archaeological Survey and it shows. There are some interesting sculptures but it would be helpful if there was more informative deciptions. If one is in Tezpur it is worth a visit.

Recently taken over by archaeological survey, the place needs better maintenance. If you are going to Arunachal Pradesh, you need to apply for the ILP from the Arunachal Government office at Parbati Nagar. This attraction is about a km from the Arunachal Govt office which makes it convenient to visit after submission of the ILP application

Da-Parbatia Temple, located about 4-Kms. west of the city of Tezpur, bears the remnants of some beautiful sculptures, depicting the patterns of the early Gupta-School of sculpture. The door-jambs of the ancient temple are adorned with the forms of two Hindu Goddesses "Ganga" and "Yamuna", standing with elegance and poise, with garlands in their hands. After remaining neglected for years,... More
