It is a nice romantic place, and it worth going, for the fun to say that you saw the place of birth of Aphrodite. Went in february and it was warm enough to swim (quickly)

Not sure what the fuss is it's a rock formation, It holds some significance in the history of the island but don't make a social trip

We have visited this location many times. The mythology surrounding the place is important, of course, but it is a great walk along the stony beach on its own. The water was getting cold at the time of my last visit, but many visitors love to swim around the rock from March to November. The cafe/shop has been refurbished and... More

We called in as we were driving by so common sense determined that we stopped to see. From the shop across the road there is a walkway to the very stoney beach. Maybe on a sunny day it looks better, but wet and windy thumbs down.

The rock and surrounding beach area form a nice little cove, offering great views. But beware that this spot is very popular with both tourists and locals, so it is often crowded. Also know that the beach is rocky, not sandy, so it is not comfortable to lay out/sit down. Otherwise, though, the water was very calm and the area... More
