Good beach but okay tourist site.
This is a beautiful beach but the rock itself is underwhelming. I would go to hang out at the beach, but I wouldn't go to see the rock. The beach is pebbley so could be easy for a walk as well if you have shoes on. If you are on your way from Limassol to Paphos, it's on your way and an easy stop by. If you are flying out of Paphos airport, it's only a 10 min drive from the airport. Otherwise I wouldn't make a special stop at this place.

    Breathtaking Views
Breathtaking views. This is a small beach but the views and water are beautiful. We came in November and dd not bring swim gear because we thought the wter would be too cold. Do yourself a favor and come prepared not matter what time of year it is. Some people were swimming here. There is also a wall where you post wishes or write on rocks to mark your visit. We did not have paper or markers. There is an app that you can download to get images of Aphrodite in the pictures that you take, Aphrodite's Birthplace. So glad we came here.

    The Goddess of Love's Birthplace.
A beautiful beach, an ancient legend, a wonderful country. It's worth a visit for the view, swimming and the fun of it. Where else can you take a dip where the Goddess of Love emerged from the sea foam?

    Beautiful scenery
The scenery is beautiful from the road so make sure you take pictures from there. You can easily get closer, the site is beautiful too but mainly with cobblestones or black sand. The beach is not too large and quickly crowded but still worth the visit

    Beautiful place- avoid the Loo….
We hired a car from Paphos and it’s not far to the Rock. This is a stunning sight easily reached from the car park by a small tunnel / walkway under the road which gets you onto a pebble beach. Wear good shoes or strong sandals as it’s a very pebbly beach and the stones and sand are red hot. There is a small shop in the parking area which sells ice- creams - nice little place two cones of ice cream were €9 I asked to use toilet and I think for such a big tourist attraction that a lot of people visit on a coach these toilets were disgusting.🤮 I could hardly breath without the heavy smell of ammonia (pee) it made me feel sick and it was one of the dirtiest toilets I’ve ever had the pleasure to use… this shop must take €1000s when coaches pull up and the car park was also full so there’s no excuse. Public toilets are needed at this tourist attraction.

Great place to visit on a road trip to another place. Free parking next to a cafe where you can cross safely underneath the road to get to the beach. Keep walking to the right past the big rock formation to get to a quieter part of the beach that has a view that is even better than the one you get when you just entered the beach.

Friday 7th October and we visited this popular tourist attraction, visitors come here for both the beach and the landmark.

Our hotel, Aphrodite Hills Hotel was roughly seven kilometres away, so here was accessible by car, bus or walking, about ninety minute walk.

Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite's Rock) is located on the coast along the road from Paphos to Limassol, it is well signposted.

The Rock, or sea stack is a geological landform consisting of a steep vertical column of rock in the sea which has formed by wave erosion. Petra tou Romiou is the largest of rocks along coast.

In mythology Aphrodite is is held in the highest esteem and this spot is regarded as her birthplace. Aphrodite was the Olympian goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation and depicted as a beautiful woman.

It is not permitted to climb the rock, however some visitors think that the rules don't apply to them which spoils the view of the Rock for other visitors.

Although the sea can be rather choppy here and around the Rock, there is a legend that any visitor who swims around the Rock three times will be blessed with eternal youth, beauty, good fortune, fertility and true love.

There are some information noticeboards dotted around. One of them has QR code to be scanned, this downloads a holographic image of Aphrodite emerging from the sea.

The safest way to access the beach is down the steps, alongside the shop and restaurant, through a stone tunnel leading to the beach. There is free parking here.

A must visit site on Cyprus! Easily accessible from the motorway, with a large car park. There is a curious stairway to a tunnel under the road which comes straight to the beach. The beach is mostly large smooth stones, so best to wear strong shoes. Plenty of photo opportunities and make sure to walk along the beach for the many views. It can get quite busy, even in winter, as it is most beautiful just before sunset.

Visited for a couple of hours during the October half term break with my family (2 adults, a 10 year old and 6 year old).

If you are staying near by, worth a visit however I wouldn’t describe this as a must see attraction. Local buses do service the area, but we paid 15 euro each way from out hotel (sensatori Aphrodite hills).

The beach is full of pebbles and suitable footwear is a must.

The sea was pleasant and nice to swim in.

Several rocks around the place which my kids enjoyed climbing. Beauty views at the top, but wasn’t safe for my young children to climb to the top.

The app that is recommended to download to make it more of an interactive experience is terrible - don’t bother.

There is a shop / coffee spot in case you wanted snacks / drinks. Expect to pay tourist prices.

Beautiful beach and place 😍. I have visited this place before during summer time few years ago, but it was very nice to come back this year in February when it was not so crowded. If you like the nature and nice rock formations, this place is for you

This place has really gone down hill after we have been visiting during our holiday to Cyprus over many years. The shop etc. looks run down and unloved. Needs to have locks put on the toilet doors. I will not return.

A scenic stretch of coast with a wonderful color contrast between the light rocks and the turquoise sea (when the sun is shining). Unfortunately, much of the magic of the place is lost due to the tourist rush. It is best to come very early in the morning before the crowds or enjoy the scenery from above from one of the viewpoints from a distance

My wife and I travelled here by public bus from Paphos bus station, taking less than an hour and a good way to see the countryside. The bus stops at the car park which has a shop and toilets. A time table of all buses can be obtained from the bus station information kiosk. The views from the car park are spectacular.
We made our way down to the beach via the stairs adjacent to the shop. The beach is very stoney. We settled under the large rock formation and went to snorkel around the rock. There are very few fish to be seen which was disappointing. This side of the beach is a lot calmer and the water clearer than the other side of the beach. We were surprised at the number of people enjoying the beach.
We have seen it and done it so no need to return.

We were a group of travellers from Canada, and visited this beautiful beach after our morning trip to Kourian. It is a very calm and relaxing area.
We all enjoyed paddling in the waters from where Aphrodite sprung from the sea foam: clear water, smooth rocks and legends and superstitions abound. It is said that if you swim three times around Aphrodite’s rock, on a full moon at midnight you will stay young and beautiful forever! Some of us are planning a return trip! Especially the old guys.

Aphrodite';s rock is a huge Jurassic coral limestone on the beach of Paphos. According to the myth this is where goddess Aphrodite was born, rising out of the foam of the sea (aphros-foam). It is a very nice and romantic place but can get crowded during tourist season

More beautiful and remote than I expected as currently the road ends there, so no through traffic.
Nice snorkelling out around 2nd / 3rd rock. Much clearer than close in to main rock.
Great views from viewpoints on the road above in advance of the rock and past it too.
