Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Auburn Railway Station serves the suburb of Auburn, which is in the area of East Hawthorn. The station dates from 1882. The current two-storey station was erected in 1916, when the Hawthorn-Camberwell connection was upgraded. The station is made of red brick and stucco, typical of the period.. The façade is pierced by arches. The Auburn Station serves the Belgrave, Lilydale and Alamein lines. The station is on the Victorian Heritage Resgister.

Auburn Station is on Auburn Road, techniically it's in Hawthorn East. The station dates from 1882, and serves the Lilydale, Belgrave and AlameIn Lines. The station is constructed of red brick and stccco, as were many stations of the time. The station ws raised to a two-storey strcture in 1916, due to tecnical requirements. Sadly, while some stations of that era, such as Essendon, have been upgraded , Auburn has been left to with on the vine. There can be few more aggravating experiences than waiting on the station, only to see a semi-express speed through. Auburn Station is on the Heritage Register; it is not without historical merit.

Glenferrie has much that this station lacks, even though they have the same design. Auburn has no staff and the toilets are locked. Many trains express though here as well.

This is my local station so I don't NEED to use a toilet, but it makes me angry that they've been locked up! It's a schlepp up the ramp to platform (no lift). No digital signs, so you have to study the minute timetable or press a button to get a recording of next trains - which, annoyingly, I can hear from my home 400 metres away. There is a coffee cart open for morning commuters, but I don't drink coffee myself. Ticket office rarely manned - indeed no staff visible 95% of the time. Not good enough, Metro!!!

Get off the train here to attend nearby occasional work meetings. Typical railway station for this area but unremarkable.

Well built station in the 19th century style. Architecture is delightful. Generally safe at night with on site guards and large spacious platforms.

Lovely enough train station that has the typical eastern suburbs look too it. Has lovely little touches from a time when craftsmanship was amazing.

Auburn station is an elevated 3 platform station, very similar to Glenferrie station nearby. It is made of brick with arches and iron pillars. I find it quite beautiful and typical of a period now long gone. Later stations had less decoration.
