Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are coming from Milano, this is the most likely entryway for the Engadine valley. The road is open in the winter (normally, one time I almost could not get through despite chains). The last part is steep hairpins and then you emerge on Silsersee.

One of the best passes in the Dolomittes and Alps. I´ve done about 25 passes, and this i on my top-three. The hairpins are so tight, that you almost drive under the hairpin you just did going down. You have to know how to drive your motorcycle, but if you do its great

Traveled along this pass after the Bernina Express and St Moritz, on the way to Chiavenna. What a ride! Fantastic skill shown by our driver getting a coach down this pass with traffic coming the other way. 2000 metres in 10 minutes. Well worth the trip.

The pass has hair pin turns and switchbacks from the top to bottom. If you are scared of narrow roads and crazy turns you may want to take a different route, however it was fun.

This is not for the faint hearted, a drop of 5000 feet in 10 minutes, with lots of hairpin bends, it was a fabulous experience with breathtaking views, this is a must.

We were in a rental car, my husband driving. The switchbacks and scenery were amazing. It was a beautiful, sunny day. I can understand why this road is closed during certain times of the year! We drove from and back to Lake Como through here on our way to St. Moritz. Going down seemed more fun than climbing!

My goodness the drive down the Maloja Pad is an experience not for the fainthearted. We came down from the high plateau of Switzerland to the lower plain of Italy by coach and our destiny was in the hands of our experienced driver Massimo. The twisting switchback roads and tight bends made for a memorable fifteen minute drive with many photo opportunities out through the coach window. I'm not sure whether going up or down was the better experience but I will remember the journey for a long time.

You feel like in Formula1 when you drive, but the view is spectacular and it worths all the effort. It was amazing, especially because at the highest point was plenty of snow (in August) so we passed from summer to winter and back to summer in only some hours. Loved it!

Maloja pass is not for the easily motion sick as I discovered if it wasnt for that difficulty I would have loved it. Lots of hairpin turns and views of the twisty winding roads above and below.

In the Canton of Graubunden Switzerland it is an essential road when travelling tomand from St. Moritz and Italy. You literally could go over the edge and large tour busses, pleasure drivers of lixury cars and yes cyclists were passing our car. I had to find a safe place to stop for the motion sickness to pass. I would equate the feeling for me to a carnival ride.

Take the gravol first.

Our tour bus drove past this stretch of road on our way back to Milan from St Moritz. Watching our skillful driver navigating our coach through the series of hairpin turns was interesting to say the least. Can't imagine what it would be like on a wet or snowy day. Scary...
