Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was in the Gordon area for the day and looked up Trip Adviser for things to do - saw the Gordon Hat Shoppe and being into my hats this was a must do.
Even reading their story on their web site built up my the expectations for the visit.
Was easy to find the wonderful old church this establishment was located in (Gordon is not that big) upon arrival walked into an experience like I have never had before. A building full of quality hats of every shape and size on display.
Was looking for a particular hat but couldn't see it, one of the owners Bob was soon on hand to assist, what a character, big white beard, real friendly personality (Santa in disguise), just meeting him was worth the visit. Real passionate about hats.
Anyway - back to the hats, no he didn't have exactly what I was after but was able to show me something pretty close to what I was after - humm ended up walking out of the shop with it.
Be warned the hats aren't cheap but that's what you expect when getting quality and uniqueness.
Was a great experience - even if you are not looking for a hat - well worth a visit just for the experience. You never know with Bobs personality - you may end up with a hat you will treasure for life

We stopped in at the Gordon Hat Shoppe to simply look at a hat, I've been searching for a hat for years. What a great time, the owners were simply lovely. it was like stepping into their home. We spent nearly an hour chatting and exploring the shop, trying on hats of all different shapes and sizes. We ended up buying 2! Well worth the visit.

As a hat lover I could have stayed and tried on every hat in the store. What an experience even if you don't buy - although hard not to - I can away with two new hats.
The gentleman tending the shop is entertainment on his own - lovely, friendly and makes the trip all the more worthwhile. Highly recommend.

We just happened to see the 2 shops as we drove through and i needed a new fishing hat. What a way to spend 45 minutes as you browse through the boots and bric a brac store followed by a short walk across the road to the hat shop where you can pick up all sorts of unique hats. If you are looking for something unique for the races or a summer hat or a winter head warmer this is where to go! Excellent fun and i now have a new fishing hat.

Took a drive with friends and unfortunately the heaviest rain I have been in for a long time struck us just out of Gordon which is on the way to Ballarat, but fortunately we drove into Gordon the have a break from driving in the rain and we found this wonderful hat shop.
We were welcomed by both of the owners and their dog Chloe and what a welcome it was especially the lovely warm fire.
The amount and quality of the hats and other produce is amazing there is something there for everyone and occasion. We had a very enjoyable time there and of course came out with a number of hats, each time we wear them we will remember that afternoon.

We met Bob on a Sunday morning at the Daylesford market and after buying a Hat and a short and friendly chat, we drove over to Gordon (about 40kms from Daylesford) and visited his Hat Shop. And what a lovely shop it is. Every type of hat you could imagine, as well as scarves and hat pins. Don't forget to wander across the street to the Gordon Boot Shoppe for a great selection of antiques and collectables. Also make sure you give Chloe the golden retriever a pat.

Wow, we were on our way to Ballarat for a weekend getaway and took the Gordon exit on a spur of the moment decision!
We had no idea what to find, but were absolutely delighted to discover this amazing little Shoppe!
The owners were truly delightful and proud of each and every one of their hats!!!
All originals, quality, quirky, stylish, colourful, and every size imaginable!!
Set in an old church, with a cottage garden it is perfect to spend an hour!
Try on as many hats at you like ........
If you are like us, you will also walk out with at least onet!!!!
Do yourself a favour, take the detour and drop in to visit this icon
