The fortress is almost 80% rehabilitated. With a cheap ticket one can view several medieval art collections(pottery, iron tools, clothing, furniture, weapons), and ancient ones; there are some very interesting church objects including old icons; there's even the changing on guards shifts.

A historical building born in 1310. A fortress for defending country-borders. The walls of the fortress will tell you stories about princes and princesses of old times. Enjoy !

We bundled this activity with a car rental and a trip to Prejmer fortified church.. a great day. Fagaras fortress showcases the new and old .. the outer walls are all preserved and old.. the bastions you could enter imagine the activity going on here in the past. The jail area was also old and impressive.. dark and scary ..Inside... More

It was a nice to visit spot. Can be done much more in my opinion by the managers. Maybe to try to get some authentic furniture to decorate rooms or to make more interactive the approach of the visitors but to the end was a well spent time visiting. There are some rooms furnished and open spaces to see some... More

The Fagaras Fortress is definetely a place to visit, even if it that means a small decoy from the original itinerary. There are not too many things to see in the town, but the Fortress is surely a place where you'll get amazed by its beauty and size. There are many nice rooms inside, decorated like in the Medieval times,... More

Is recently refurbished and it looks very good. The throne chamber, lady bedroom, and conference room are looking very good. is also a museum inside with different objects from various times very good preserved. Also the blacksmith around the walls is very genuine. you have to spend 3-4 hours for a fully visiting of the place.
