Lesser known palace but nor to be missed!

Superb grounds and a human scale palace, if you condor the pink and blue rococo style. I could imagine myself living here!

A little bit far away from the city center. Took us three ours to get there and 2 hours to get back due to different public transportation running to and from Lomonosov. As to the place itsef: The gardens are very beautiful and fun to walk and the palace has opened a multimedia introduction to the palace origins. The palace... More

40 minutes by bus or train from St. Petersburg. Perhaps the least known of all palaces around St. Petersburg, but well worth visiting. An easy walk from the train station in Oranienbaum. Grand palaces and lovely park.

The Chinese Palace is beautiful. Don't miss the Roller Coaster Pavillion which is under restoration at present.

Do not miss the pavilion of Catherine II, with its newly opened Dining room. The main house is actually a bit borring, if you set aside the Crimson room. You also want to see the Sliding hill pavilion, hopefully also soon from the inside when it is restored.

The park is simply fabulous, we have been in summer and winter and in both seasons really enjoyed the park. The museum is interesting because it is not a palace of the Romanovs but of one of their ministers, Definitely worth making the trip to Lomonossov.

this palace survived even the time of the siege during WWII. it's still under reconstruction, but the main palace and lots of the park have already been polished to its former glamour. taking the train from petersburg-baltiyskaya is simple. getting to the estate from the train station is a simple. people in the town are very helpful, if one asks... Not the easiest to get to, but well worth the effort as it is wonderfully peaceful compared to Peterhof which is overrun by tourists. Take the metro to Avtovo (the same as Catherine Palace) and marshrutka 300 or 424 to Lomonosov or Oranienbaum. It takes about 40 minutes. Once you get there you have a wealth of attractions, as well... More

Not so many people. Good scenery! Especially, the garden in front of Grand Menshikov Palace was great. Wonderful place to visit.
