Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Step back in time when you visit this beautiful park. Plenty of open shady spaces, a swimming enclosure and beautiful views. Also has Carss Cottage (open Sundays 1-5) with an interesting array of artefacts and images from the Kogarah area. Well worth a visit.

Great spot for a family get together. Right on the bay, enormous children's playground. Enclosed baths with a sandy beach for the kids. The only negative is that there are not enough summer houses, you have to get there at the crack of dawn to get a table.

We have spend several events at Carss Bush Park including Australia Day celebrations with family and friends on many occasions. The grassed area allows you to sit under the trees in the shade or move around and let the kids have ball activities. There is a path and kids can ride bikes and scooters although it is a bit restricted. The swimming area is safe because it is fairly shallow, but is a bit mirky to look at. It didn't stop my grandchildren though.

Great location and very attentive staff. Only problem is they take far too long with coffee orders. We had to ask twice today where our coffee orders were.I think they underestimate the success of the new cafe and need another barista.

What a wonderful surprise we found when we decided to meet with Sydney friends before our flight back home to Melbourne. Carss Bush Park was only about 10 mins drive to the airport but we enjoyed a beautiful brunch and a gorgeous scenic
Parkland walk by the water and past the historic cottage. We also explored an interesting seawall created for conservation of rock pools, sea life and vegetation. The access was so easy and parking was plentiful in all surrounds of the park. The large children's playground is amazing!!! We enjoyed this beautiful and serene Park more than our visits to other waterside areas we explored days earlier including Coogee, Bronte, Brighton Le Sands, Ramsgate and Sans Souci. This area should be advertise to tourists as a Devine brunch or picnic location.

A beautiful piece of paradise with a wonderful bush park right next to the water. The views over the water are lovely. There is a great children’s playground, lots of picnic tables and a nice cafe.
It was fabulous to see so many families having so much fun. We loved all the cockatoos, some of which were making themselves quite at home with the picnickers. There is a fresh water pool as well as an enclosed salt water pool in the bay which has a nice beach.
We walked up to Carr’s original sandstone cottage which was built in 1865 and stand vey prominently on the point. It has been restored and today is a museum which opens on Sunday.

The park is conveniently located in short drive from southern Sydney suburbs. Locals or seniors like walking at pathways with ocean view. Groups of friends or families can enjoy a day fishing at seaside, having picnic or BBQ with activities at the nearby kids playground, swimming at beach or using the adjacent pool facilities. Suggest choosing another spot for BBQ on a windy day since the area catches more wind from the ocean than other inland public parks.

There's a nice track through bush alongside a cliff plus a lookout with no actual views. However, the whole park is really noisy because of the highway.

Hi,
Can we bring our own grill and coals to do bbq? Or is it restricted to be done on electric grills provided in the park only?
Written 20 April 2019
Yes you can bring your own BBQ. They even have a special bin to put your heat bricks into near the electric BBQ area.

Is the BBQ area big enough for more than 100 people? Can we hire venue for 1/10/18(Monday)?
Written 14 August 2018
The park is quite big and I think there is space for 100 people. I shouldn't think it would be too busy on a Monday. You can hire the hall there for a fee. Check with Geroges River Council to see if it is free for that day.
