Very, very, very nice place, one of the most beatiful places of the world! One of our friends suggests us: travell to the kings towns! There you will see so much beautifull things - as much as you cant imagine!! And it is true. When we were in Versay (France) a man (our guide) sad that metal parts infront of... More

I had heard about this palace but it was beyond what I imagined. The gold and ornate architecture is like nothing I'd seen before. Inside the palace itself is no different. Amazing!

This Palace is situated just across the Catherine Palace and was a Catherine the Great present for her grandson Alexander I. That was the work of another italian architect and in difference from Francesco Bartholomeo Rastrelli, who made the Catherine Palace more in Rococo and Baroque style, here in the case of Alexander Palace is presented the neoclassical way of... September 2016 entire grounds and building are closed. We would love to have seen it. It is directly across from The Catherine Palace and would be easy to pair with that tour.

The last Russian Tzar was exiled to Siberia after spending his last 13 years in this palace which he made his main residence. A good choice if you are interested in the interiors of late 19th and early 20th centuries. The museum possesses a great collection of personal belongings of the last Royal family. Can be both an add-on or... More

A gift of Catherine the Great to her favorite grandson, Grand Duke Alexander Pavlovich (later Emperor Alexander I of Russia) when he married Grand Duchess Elizaveeta Alexeevna. The building designed by Giacomo Quarenghi between 1792 and 1796 was originally planned for Saint Petersburg. But finally it was built in front of the huge Alexander Park in Tsarskoye Selo. One of... This is my fave out of the palaces we visited during our stay in St Petersburg. Despite its modesty compared to others, I loved its homeliness and stories about Nicholas and Alexandra's life together. At this palace you actually feel like it's the real place where these guys lived and that they were real people with their own family life.... More

This is a very warm family house, after so many years one might still feel as if intruding into a personal life. This was a true family which utterly valued its family life and every moment they were able to spend together. This place is connected with, perhaps, the most ‘dark pages’ of the Russian history, and those who reassess... More

This was the actual home of the last Tsar and his family. So worth a visit if one is interested in that part of history. Still not fully restored, but a touching place to be as one pictures them sitting and waiting all night in the Circular Hallway, for the cars that would take them to the train that would... More
