The Market is supposedly the biggest in Tajikistan. It was mostly vegetables and cheap Chinese products being sold, although the building itself was very beautiful once you found odd glimpses of the original structure. Tourists would find it useful for the money exchange there that...More

Best way to meet the locals and learn about their lives. It's a traditional bazaar selling a wide variety of things: local bread, clothing, daily necessities, vegetables, meat, etc. You name it...it's interesting.

Panjshanbe Bazaar (Market) is one of the most interesting places in Khujand. You may find everything in the market, foods, bread, cokies, fruits and so on.

As central asian person, I can say that it is usual bazaar, quite big though. It is located almast in the center of city, worth to visit, since it's a place where every local person goes.

I had a wander around this market and the way they display their produce is an art form. The sellers were also super friendly and wanted to chat and take photos with us, it was such a great experience so definitely worth a trip here.

Must see and experience in Khujand. As good as it gets for a local market. Anything and everything available. Very friendly sellers. It's where locals go to shop. A walkabout is well worth your time. You will not be disappointed.
