It took us 2 hours to reach the lake. If you wish to commute, it would be better to get a car than a tricycle like what we did. The travel was tiring but the view was worth it all. It sits on a dormant volcano with a cool climate. People can enjoy activities such as kayaking, swimming and picnic.... More

Leaving Ormoc and driving north for about 30 minutes will take you to a beautiful setting. As you pass through the province you'll be asking yourself if there is really anything to see up the road...but then the view opens up to Lake Danao National Park. At about 2400 feet above sea level it is substancally cooler here. There are... More

We brought food with us when we visited the lake, some wine and beer too. It was great to just relax, we did kayak and a little swimming too. Just having a great time with friends, brought speakers and listened to good music. If you're from the big city, stressed from work this would definitely be a must!

For Ormocanons, the place is their pride. It's thousands of feet above sea level so the temperature is cold. For tourists, don't expect too much since the place is not fully developed. For nature lovers, this place is highly recommended for you.

This is a place where one of my dream came true: camping by the lake. Lake Danao is Ormoc City's most precious gem and I completely agree. Aweing to its tranquil and relaxing environment, the lake is a great place for swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, and even camping. You might have to travel for an hour to get there and... More
