We ate here after a morning at Paestum. This is where they make Buffalo cheese. It is quite an operation with gardens, livestock, a ice cream store, cheese store (where you watch them made the cheese) and a restaurant. The food was limited but good but the experience was great.

Visited here before COVID with a group of friends and spent the day here. Watched them make mozzarella- which was heavenly and literally melted in my mouth. The pizza they made with it was divine. having lunch from ingredients from their organic farm was delicious. They gave us each a yogurt-for putting in the cold bag (bring one with you if you go) for breakfast the following day. After lunch we walked to their ice cream parlor where we had gelato from the milk of the Buffalo. Ben and Jerry’s doesn’t hold a candle to this organically made gelato! When the Buffalo are at the end of their life span their hides are made into the softest purses money can buy and the farm, being a non-profit has the top Italian designers (Prada, Fendi, etc) creating designs for the leather to be made into bags, wallets, belts, etc. the window overlooking the works room is so you can watch the items being made. We even brought home some soap made of the milk of the Buffalo. Beautifully packaged for giving as gifts. It makes such a Soft lather and each time I use it I think of TENUAT VANNULO & wishing Covid could go away so I can go once again! After you leave head to Paestum to see the Temples left thousands of years ago by Greeks who settled in the area.they are in perfect shape and a tour of the museum is not to be missed. An English speaking guide can be hired there and is worth it!

We were on a tour provided by the buffalo farm, which was well run, efficient and informative. As always in Italy it took a bit of time to get going and to meet our wonderful guide. Watching the mozzarella being made was mesmerising. As was watching the locals arrive to buy their cheese for the weekend. The farm only uses its own milk to produce its cheese. The visit to the animal sheds was also interesting. From watching the approximate 300 buffalo going about their daily automatic business-like eating, milking, sleeping, listening to music and scratching to the understanding of the organic production. As you walk about the site keep your eyes open. We saw olive picking, other farm animals, a museum and a buffalo leather working shop. Finally, you get to taste the product of the day. Smooth and creamy nothing like the stuff we get from our local supermarket.
They do have a cafe with what looked like wonderful produce.

Maybe 10 minute drive from Paestum archeological park. An inside look at the production of “mozzarella di Bufala” (mozzarella made from water buffalo). A change to taste the various products, also a leather shop with gorgeous (and affordable) leather products. Very nice!!

A great experience to see the whole process of making buffalo mozzarella! The buffalo have a nice area to eat, massagers and comfy beds to sleep. They line themselves up for milking and seem content. There is lots of outside space to explore and see, like the organic herb garden, and chicken pens. You can buy souvenirs like bags and belts, made from buffalo hide. The ice cream made with buffalo Fior Di Latte is amazing. They also sell brioche, yoghurt and cacao, nocciole and pisatacchio spreads which would be perfect presents. The restaurant serves just wine and beer and the service wasn't that friendly, however the food was great. Parking is also free! I would happily go back.

We emailed ahead to book the tour and cannot recommend this place highly enough! We loved seeing how the mozzarella was made (you have to come early, production stops at noon) and the mozzarella we tasted was the single best mozzarella I've ever had in my entire life! Don't miss out on trying out the yogurt and gelato here either! (And if you're here for lunch, definitely book a spot at their restaurant) This was one of the highlights of our trip!!

We went here as part of a Rick Steves tour of Italy. It was the cool to see how happy the water buffalo seem. All automates. The cheese was delicious. After 25 years of milking, they also make beautiful leather products.
Lunch was delicious & the setting was beautiful.

We toured the farm and amazing barns with their pampered water buffalo, then walked past bougainvillea-lined stone terraces and entered a private room set up for lunch. And what a lunch it was! We were served homemade breads, the freshest organic salad with the sweetest cherry tomatoes, dressed in light herbed oil and vinegar, (I consumed bowlfuls of the stuff!), and then came the fresh mozzarella. I can see why the Queen of England has Tenuta Vannulo’s melt-in-your-mouth mozzarella shipped weekly to her castle. The name ‘Mozzarella’ comes from the meaning 'cut by hand’ and these people really know what they are doing after 15 years production. We ate greedily from platefuls of various forms of mozzarella including a light ricotta also made on the farm. Our lunch ended with individual jars of the best tasting yogurt I ever ate. Well sated, we limped out of the dining hall only to be ushered over to the ice cream store. Well, loosen my pants I say! Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, Coffee, Vanilla, Berry, and plain were among the teasers on display in the frozen yogurt department, then there were similar flavors of gelato for sale including one of my favorite, Pistachio. I probably put on more pounds here than anywhere on this trip. But memorable pounds.
