Great place, impossible to find as not many people know about it. First I was sent to a hotel near by with a similar name. Then I managed to find it in the middle of nowhere. There's also a security guy so he might kick you out of there as it's not allowed to walk around nor go inside. It's a shame that place like this is becoming derelict.. …

It is one of 3 houses that Georgi Romanov owned in Abastumani. Currently nobody takes care of if so it falls slowly into ruins. No entrance, so you see it from outside. Romanov came here to treat his tuberculosis, but died after a fall from a bicycle.

It is actually two buildings - winter and summer mansions which were built for Grand Duke George (brother of Nicholas II). Part of it was turned into St. Panteleimon nunnery in the 90s. The territory of the mansion is closed off, but it's easy to get into. There is no information plaques or anything, just an abandoned building - but it's very beautiful and delightful to explore.
