Not much restored to the castle but they are working on it. Right on our way and a pleasant stop. A lot to do around the castle as well, but we didn't take the time to wander.

This castle is in fact a tower house built by the O'Sullivan clan in the 16th century. The castle is in ruins now but still a wonderful place for a short stop.

Easily accessible off main road. Free and can walk right up to it. On a very pretty piece of land next to a beautiful river! Would recommend stopping by if in the area!

We happened upon this castle as we were driving through Kealkill. Great photos from bridge with river flowing by-also from the paved overlook and shooting across the river.

This tower-house was linked with the great O'Sullivan Bere family and is a good example of this type of castle home. The main building is in ruins but the grounds and surrounding buildings have been conserved and in some cases are put to use. (One...More

Hi, In my opinion it is with care my friend. No steps or stairs gentle slopes with a cobbled surface.
