Homestay at Lenh Homestay was surreal. It’s like a five star hotel with all the amenities provided. Dinner was absolutely tasty n I had the pleasure of gatecrashing a local minority housewarming party. It was my request to get to know the minority people and it was a wonderful experience. The family treated me with respect n I enjoyed dancing n mingling with them. The host of the homestay also drove me to meet his friends and it was wonderful to meet them!

We stayed in Thac Ba Lake as part of our year 9 school trip. The Eco Lodge is amazing, and the entire lake is stunning. Great sunsets, and very very peaceful

Thac Ba Lake is a lake near Yen Bai city, where we stopped over on our way to Sapa. Bravely (or foolishly) we decided to head to Thac Ba Lake after 6 hours of riding (Hanoi - Ba Vi National Park - Yen Bai), trusting only in Google Maps for directions.
Google maps led the way for the one hour long trip, which brought us to some really really terrible roads... it went from nicely paved tarmac, to concrete, to crumbly concrete, to dirt path and rocks... it wound us through many tiny tiny villages where the villages were all shocked to see a random tourist on a bike... past quarries and massive trucks hauling rocks... past wood veneer processing areas with thousands of sheets of wood airing and drying...
We really thought we weren't going to make it, or that our bike would develop punctures. But after 1 hour 15 mins of punishment, our trusty bike brought us to a viewing point next to the power station/dam looking thing.
The view was lovely, but we were the only tourists there, with several curious vietnamese peoples looking oddly at us (probably wondering why a tourist is so far off the beaten track).
As it turns out, there was a much much easier route there, but its not the one that turns up as first, second or third choice on google maps haha. We took it back to Yen Bai and it saved us much pain.
Would not really recommend going there yourself, unless you're brave and really trust your bike. Go with a tour agent who knows whats going on and you'll probably see more and enjoy it more than we did :)

Located in the territory of two districts Yen Binh and Luc Yen Yen Bai, Thac Ba Lake is like "Ha Long on the mountain" with the large green islands under the shadow of the cave system beautiful hidden deep in the heart of the range. limestone mountains. It is the mystery that gives Thac Ba a sparkling beauty but is very friendly.
The people are very friendly and the service is good.
Thank you very much

Beauty place to discover if you visit Yen Bai in the first time. You might need to go to port to rent a boat and a guy for drive and guide you how to travel in this big lake.

Fantastic and made better by spectacular weather. The lake is huge, but beautiful. Your guide can let you climb one of the islands with smallish hills to enjoy a wonderful 360 views. If you get perfect weather the sunset will blow you away.

Hallo,
