It is forbidden to drive inside the territory of Dam, but the best look is from aside so you can see all the huge building and take a photos. But be careful, there are no fence on the road sides!

On the way to Mestia, this beautiful gem comes up.. There are lot more activities planned and the visitor center is still under construction.

Big dam and nice view. Good place to stop over and have some drinks, refresh and eat something before continue for drive.

271 Meter height Enguri arch type dam is Second in the world among the Arch type Dams. It is planned to built extreme (Zip line) attraction on this building.

The place were human intellect could conquer the nature. Build in 1959 Inguri dam is amazing sample of soviet architecture. Having height of 277 meters.. 277 meters of water, believe me, it is better to see. I can not explain my feelings. Definitely recommended and...More

The views of the dam and more than that on the turquois reservoir are spectacular. It is a very massive and impressive dam 272 meters high supplying 46% of Georgia energy

The Enguri hydroelectric power station on the Enguri River on the way to Svaneti, started construction in 1961 and was finally completed in 1987. In 2015 Enguri dam was given cultural heritage status. Has spectacular views and must see place.

Very beautiful place. Coords 42.762447, 42.039536. Just ask security guards to get in and go by the road.

What a surprise! We were traveling to Gudauri and admiring the scenery when we drove by this dam. The color of the water was a nice light aqua. Obviously, since it is a dam, it is in operation based on the water needs.
