It is a horse she shaped water falls which fell from adecent hight. The fall of water is quite heavy and mist floats in the air. There is also the facility to go the base of the fall by boats.

I visited in April when there is very less water in the falls but there is a possibility of Boat Ride It is one of the most exhilarating experience one could have . Try visiting around sunset .

Wonderful environment. Prevent the monsoon as the water flow is hard enough to wash someone with it. Besides the rainfall also makes it tough to drive on roads connecting jagdalpur to Raipur. For tourists not local, winter is the best season as the water calms...More

Jagdalpur is the nearest station to Chitrakote falls. As this station is newly built not many trains have stoppage here.

This is best time as due to rains the fall will be in full flow. Book CG resort next to falls. Also dont miss other few falls in that area like Tamar Ghumar, Teerath Garh and ofcourse the Kotumsar caves.
