Unless you take a guide, it's not worth going as you will be looking at things without a clue. We had an English speaking guide with. Staff don't speak English. Well kept and interesting. Very small. Only needs about 20 minutes maximum.

The museum has recently moved into an old Russian building and is not finished yet. There are a number of rocks from different parts of the country and some interesting memorabilia. You really don't need more then an hour yo see it all

It's dark, badly curated, no English and even though cheap isn't worth your time. The one thing that is interesting is the stuffed Marco Polo sheep which shows how big they are.

If you pass through Khorog, it is worth spending one hour in this museum. Unfortunately, it needs a serious renovation, and it is poorly maintained (although 3 or 4 members of staff were sitting idle in the lobby). Everything is in Russian only.
