Iceland is a land of waterfalls, world-class waterfalls, and Gulfoss is at the top of the list!! Not to be missed!! There are two parking lots, the upper lot and the lower lot. If you are not a good walker part in the lower lot. You will end up at this level to get to the falls anyway, from the... More

A gorgeous waterfall with plenty of scenery all around. There is also a wonderful visitor center when you arrive. Enjoy!

My photos definitely does not do it justice! It was such a phenomenal experience once you are there! Again, be prepared to do some walking to get to the falls and you'll definitely be rewarded! It is part of the Golden Circle drive and not to be missed!

Gullfoss was a slippery walk to the overview but the view is incredible. We drive up to the top and walked over for photos, then opted to drive to the bottom for more photos. The steps were very slippery. The waterfall is beautiful. It started snowing when we were there!!

I've seen a number of impressive waterfalls during my travels and this one is extremely impressive. The size of the waterfall is incredible and just so beautifully wild and raw. People are little dots in the landscape compared to it. Great history with it too. We visited in mid November when it was cold, windy and wet so bring the... More

This is a nice drive and beautiful waterfall. We rented a car and drove the gold circle by ourselves and it was great. The trails for walking around near here are good too. They also have a shop and restaurant. We were lucky we had great weather.

The place looks amazing and I could imagine how great it would have been to go down to the very close viewing point. Unfortunately, it was cold, rainy and windy. This made for a great waterfall show, but everybody that day was soaked from head to toe. It's definitely one of the places I'm returning to on a summer trip... More

Visited Gullfoss in October and it was AMAZING!!!!! It was the first snowfall of the year and it added immensely to the beauty. Traversing down the steps was treacherous, being no one tried to apparently clean them off during the day. I suggest if visiting in the winter to bring ice cleats (not crampons for mountain climbing, that's extreme). Our... More

If witnessing the amazing and awe inspiring power of waterfalls is your thing or just a lover of nature then this is a must see spot in Iceland. About an hour an a half drive east of Reykjavik is well worth the drive through the lovely scenery to the location.
