Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wow been going here for years when I am in the cayo’s . After the hurricane the restaurant was rebuilt . It’s bigger and better and the service is good . The staff were very polite and efficient. Food was good . The toilets are the in the same place as they were before the hurricane . They are not the best but remember this is Cuba and at a remote location The journey to Pilar was much longer from Cayo Coco but the only reason it seemed to take forever to get there . The open top bus does all the hotels and as more and more hotels are being built the longer it takes to get to Pilar . Maybe next time I go I will enquire how much a taxi will cost . This place is a little piece of paradise but the day we went this time it was windy and the sea that is usually like glass , so calm and serene was very rough . But that’s nature 🙂. I love Pilar Beach as I always have visited and will go again and again every time I am in the Cayos .i just wish the open top bus would have an another one as the journey has become tedious

This stretch of beach goes on and on. We tried walking the beach to the end but after 2 hours, we gave up. The water is warm and the breeze was cool. Walking the beach and picking up shells became a family activity. The variety of shells we picked up shows how many different kinds of sea life surrounds the island. Many seaside bars and restaurants were open for thirsty trekkers. We made use of a few of those bars in both directions. We did not see too many people sitting around and blocking our walk, so this was a great beach walking experience.
