I've been to Llansteffan Castle many times, but am still in awe each time I go. The views from the castle are incredible and the short walk up there is lovely. For a free castle there are still quite a lot of ruins to see, but of course some imagination is needed. It's only a 15 minute walk from the... More

The Sunday morning was rather cold with some rain, but the walk up to the castle past the 'Sticks' will for ever remain in my memory. The lives of people who built the castle and inhabited it is now quite unimaginable for us moderns, but surely, they would have shared most of our feelings and thoughts?

Nice to visit on a dry day. Just a 15 minute walk from beach carpark. Great views of Towy Estuary and Bristol Channel.

The gf wanted a new years day walk so I decided to take her to Llansteffan beach and then a walk up to the castle . There is parking for around sixty cars by the beach so usually a enough places to park in the quiet months . Llansteffan beach is right at the start of term estuary into carmarthen... More

Not much to see except the fantastic views across the estuary, but worth the climb for that. Substantial ruins which dominate the village

Stand at the top of the castle, gaze out to sea and inhale pure sea air, rolling in over the North Atlantic. This castle is situated a short walk from the pretty Llansteffan village. The castle is free to enter and has placards that explain the history and purpose of various structures. The view from the castle out to sea... More

A beautiful and historic castle, with wonderful walks both on the beach and further along the coast (on the Wales Coast Path). Lots of exploring and rolling down grassy slopes opportunities for those who are young enough. Views over the estuary to Gower and also has a super traditional tea shop and chippy in season.

From its position high on a hill top this castle dominates the landscape. The car park is next to the beach and its about 2/3 of a mile to walk up to it. If you enjoy remoteness and romantic ruins then you should not miss this castle. From the top you'll be rewarded with amazing views across the estuary and... More

Free parking, toilets and fish and chips from a van. Wonderful. Up a gentle incline for about half a mile is the entrance to the castle. The walls and outbuildings are free with good signage and descriptions that tells all. The veiws are brilliant and stretch to Worms Head on the Gower. The castle is grassed so walking is easy...
