Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The architect who designed this building was not very proficient, when he wanted to go up to the roof top his head had to bow because it was very low

Rhema Hill is also called the Chicken Church, this place is basically a place of prayer in all religions, this chicken-shaped building with a crown on the head of a chicken where we can go up to the top of the crown to see a very nice view

You can walk from punthuk setumbu to this place, so you can get a whole package of nature beauty. Must go up to see why this place worth to visit. Just like the purpose of this building, the right place to meditate or just enjoy the view.

One of the place must go if you are at Borobudur area. Just bout half an hour journey from Borobudur Temple.

Admission fee IDR 15,000/Head for local and IDR 30,000/head for foreigner. You might need to trek and walk bout 500 meter up to the hill. Actually it’s not really a church, it’s a place for the people there to read the prayer and it’s kind of community hall.

I hired ojek (motorcycle taxi) from my homestay on Jl. Badrawati (mear gate 7 Borobudur) to get here. It's around 4 km ride passed through narrow and rocky road, flanked by the local houses and fields. We went on 5 am and we arrived at the parking area, we have to continue hiking for about 10-15 minutes to the Rhema Hill (The chicken church). Just right before sunrise.

The trek is steep enough so cars don't be allowed to pass. But, some people still passed by jeep although our guide said it's quite dangerous and there's no parking area at the top.

You can enter the Chicken Church for IDR 20k (sunrise) or IDR 15k (after sunrise but they will serve you Gombong Cassava). I'm not sure if this price applies for foreigners too.

Inside the chicken church, you can climb the stairs to the top of the chicken head and see the view from there (you can see borobudur temple and Sumbing mount from afar). You can also visit the prayer cave in the basement. It's quite unique and interesting for photo spot.

If you are here to see the Chicken Church, this is a short distance away, and offers, if clear day, a nice view. Be sure to wear good shoes for the "walk". Bring water.
