A somewhat little known treasure. Do a google image search of this place and then try not to visit! The drive was beautiful. The towns are idyllic. We stayed in Espot in Hotel Saurat and that was perfect. You can either drive and park in the parking lot in the national park, then hike up to the taxi drop off... More

Our drive through the park afforded us some of the most beautiful views you could ever imagine. I only wish we had brought a picnic lunch along with us. Make time in your schedule to visit this park.

Hiked the park for 2 full days. First did the popular hike to horse's tail - glad we went early and before the season began. Easy hike - more like a road to start. Went by several water falls then finally the horse's tail. Beautiful scenery but can imagine this is very crowded in summer. Have to take a shuttle... More

Visited with 2 teenage boys (17 & 14), took the only taxi service that operates to the park (a fun thing for itself, they are 4 x 4 jeeps that serve as the taxi company). Did the longest ride to the peek (50 minute ride in the jeep) and then an easy 3 to 4 hours walk down to the... More

We enjoyed our visit to Aiguestortes- Sant Maurici lake (which is not really a lake- it is a reservoir, as the water is held by a man made dam). We enjoyed it, althogh we did not do all the treks we planned- the treks are not all marked well and not always possible to walk.

Most incredible nature site. Beautiful views. Will suit trackers and also familys. We went in by taxi to the second pool and walked down back to the first. Was a bit cold and snowed. Over all good enjoyable experiences.

We went with my parents, in their late 70's and did the main walk from Lake Ratera to Sant Maurici. There were fantastic views at Lake Ratera and the amazing 50m waterfall down to the crystal clear lake Sant Maurici. It wasn't difficult and we passed some locals walking their dogs even. We spent around 4 hrs doing the 4... More

Amazing place!!! Real mountains, opportunities for hiking. There are also taxis in the village who can drive you up to the mountains if you cannot walk. The hike is medium

Absolutely incredible park! My wife and I stayed in Espot and hiked the Estany d'Amitges/Refuge d'Amitges to Estany de Sant Maurici trail in late-September. It was a beautiful hike from top to bottom, and was really peaceful at the time of year we went. We found it hard to figure out the best way to do this hike by reading... More

We took a jeep (they call it "taxi") from Espot to the entrance of the park. You could drive your car to a car park which is located between Espot and the entrance of the park, however you would have to walk about 1 hour to the entrance of the park if you did that. There are many different routes... More
