The origin of the name Maragogi is of the old Tupi that means "river of the cats of the bush", was chosen that name due to the river that bathes the municipality. The municipality of Maragogi is located in the state of Alagoas, in the state of Maceió.

One of the main tourist attractions in the state, the tourist attractions that attract most in Maragogi are the beaches of Peroba, São Bento, Barra Grande and Burgalhau. Beaches of natural pools, calm sea, white sands and reefs where it is possible to bathe next to colorful fish.

Another strong point in Maragogi is its rural tourism in the farms Cachoeira and Marrecas.

My favorite beach in Tamandare for swimming! Absolutely beautiful, clean, and not packed with people (which I do appreciate). We enjoyed a wonderful day at this beach and had lunch at "Tapera do Sabor", which we strongly recommend!

We've been here multiple times of year, multiple times of day and we found that in the early am (~9:30) it was almost desserted and the water was cool and refreshing. Around lunchtime, when the quiosque is in full swing, it's a bit more crowded and a lot of seaweed would have washed ashore.

This beach is across the marinas Tamandaré and like all beaches in the area hotel has a very good color, with warm water temperatures and the presence of reefs that minimize the waves, making it very good for children. During the evenings, you can go with your children to "catch" small crabs with flashlights. It is very good.
