Transportation by car is ok, plenty parking but taxi is hard to find. Bridge is fun to walk on and not scary. Beside bridge people seem to enjoy other ways to go down.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 January 2024
- Emma CGodalming, United Kingdom3,049 contributionsGreat viewsWe visited here on a day when we were hoping the clouds would clear so we could see Fuji-san. It wasn't meant to be. Still, it was a great experience and really nice to be in a more rural area. The bridge offers fantastic views, and on the day we were there, there were stalls selling local fruit and veg, jams, etc. Great prices and choice!Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 27 January 2024
- swimdancermomAtlanta, Georgia154 contributionsEngineering Marvel to see Mt FujiFantastic views of Mt Fuji. The skywalk bridge itself is an engineering marvel and worth seeing if you are into structures. It has won awards for its design and integration into the mountainous area. It was funded by a private firm recognizing the opportunity to improve tourism in the town of Mishima. The bridge opened in 2015 so it in fact does have a toursity vibe but the views of Mt Fuji are spectacular. There is zip lining which looked very fun. One can watch the zip liners from the bridge which was entertaining. We went to the top observation deck once across the bridge where people had brought their own picnics to enjoy the beauty and views. We ate at Tree Tree Tree restaurant which was very nice. You can order a basket (drink/ fries and sandwich or hot dog) and it is served in a traditional basket that you can then go and have your own 'Picnic" at the upper observation deck. Upon entry, you get a 50 yen coupon to use toward soft serve ice cream. It was the best ice cream I had in Japan. The bus ride from the Mishima rail station takes about 40 minutes. We actually missed our bullet train back to Tokyo and had to wait another 30 minutes so plan extra time. It is well worth the stop off the bullet train at Mishima and an easy way to see Mt Fuji.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 May 2024
- Doreen LSingapore, Singapore29 contributionsBreathtaking and funStunning views. There are fun activities at the area such as forest adventure. The best was the zip lining alongside Mishima Skywalk. Best to go in the morning as there are activities at that area which I didn’t have enough time for.Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten 27 May 2024
- Yasuhiro.KuwajimaSaitama, Japan54 contributionsMy daugher enjoyed thereIt's a 400m long suspension bridge. The bridge sways a little, so it's a bit thrilling. Once you cross the bridge, there are many shops and activities. My daughter tried the zip line, which is as long as the bridge, and it seemed to be fun. It took about an hour to get ready, putting on the harness and watching the safety video. The video was also available in English. Participants must be at least 140cm+ tall and weigh less than 100kg to participate in the zip line. Shizuoka Pref. is famous for its mandarin oranges and green tea. I bought the mandarin orange shaved ice and iced green tea at the shop. They were very delicious.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 August 2024
- Irini LinBelfast, United Kingdom116 contributionsLovely engineering workThe bridge itself is lovely. With the breeze it is a little swing, but perfectly comfortable. The mountain and the sea views are spectacular even though I have haven't seen Mt. Fuji. However it was a long trip to come and buses are limited, so if you do not want to do activities like canopy tours (I didn't do it as it was too hot) it would be a little time consuming.Visited September 2024Travelled soloWritten 8 September 2024

I hoped to see the 2nd longest suspension bridge in Japan which is Kujyuu in Ohita Prefecture but the bridge is located in very incombinient place and it takes much time than necessary so I tried this one instead. If you are lucky you can see mount Fuji from there but I could only see the top above clouds. even though longest,the heght is only 70.6m much shorter than 173m of Kujyuu so it was not thrilling at all.
I do not recommend that you go to Mishima only for this bridge but if you have other location that you like to visit then you may go there as well.

The skywalk is a 400 metres pedestrian suspension bridge. Walking along the bridge, you admire on the left the fabulous snow-capped Mount Fuji. You begin to understand why the mountain is so much adored by Japanese. On the right, you watch, live, those brave-at-heart gliding through the air hanging on the 300 metre Long Zip Slide. This is not a game for elders like me. But to the young and brave, this is an experience , once tried, that will never be forgotten.

This was so-so. It seemed to me a bit of a money grabbing exercise for the owners. There was indeed an excellent view of Mount Fuji from the skywalk (1100 Y to cross for 400 m). However, when you got to the other side, all the attractions cost money. There were no real walks or things you can do without spending more money!

We visited Skywalk on the way home from a short trip to Izu and it was a couple of hours well spent. Although the suspension bridge is a bit of a novelty, it provides fantastic views of Suruga Bay (and, weather permitting, Mount Fuji). What made the visit more special was the chance to have a go on the zip line which parallels the bridge. There is also a more comprehensive forest adventure course which I look forward to trying on our next visit.

Leisure visit over this suspension bridge. It was a part of of tour that included a visit to a fish market at a different location. Mishima Skywalk was on the way. Probably would not have visited otherwise. Regular suspension bridge, kids enjoyed of course. The day wasn’t clear so we didn’t see Mt Fuji. There is also a zip line, that looked like fun but since we were on a times tour, we didn’t have time for that. Lots of dogs in strollers, I guess you can bring one. Their gift shop had interesting salt variations, different types, like curry salt, pink salt. We got quite a few bottle actually

Is there a shinkansen can take me from either Tokyo/ Yokohama/ Hamamatsu to the skywalk?
So I can make it as a day trip

I suggest you take an express bus from Shinjuku bus station to Mishima bus station directly. It takes 2 hours and it is very frequent on weekdays. There is no need to transfer and time journey is almost like taking trains which involves few transfers. You may check the schedule from Shinjuku bus station as I understand the schedules varies from season to season.
Upon arrival on Mishima bus station, there is a direct bus to Mishima Skywalk which takes less than half an hour. Good to check the weather forecast before you go as you may not able to see Mount Fuji when weather condition is not favourable. Hope the info helps.

Здравствуйте!
Не ясен порядок прохождения тропы Mishima Skywalk. Видятся следующие возможные варианты:
1) вход на южной стороне, выход на северной;
2) вход на северной стороне, выход на южной;
3) вход и выход на любой стороне.
Предполагаю, что недалеко как от южных, так и от северных ворот есть автобусные остановки. Для изучения расписания хорошо бы знать их названия.
Заранее благодарен.

To get this Sky walk 1) Mishima station is station of JR Tokaidou line and Shinkansen. 2) Then get Tokai bus, the bus depart from No.5 spot from the JR station. It takes 20 min from the JR station. I recommend to visit Hakone area using local bus.

Are there usual taxis waiting at the skywalk? I am visiting and will need a taxi to Mishima Station.
Written 11 May 2017
You can use Tokai bus between Sky walk and Mishima Station. There are two bus / hour from 9am to 4pm. It takes about 30min and fare is 560 Yen.
You can also go to Motohakone, beside Ashinoko lake, using this bus. I recommend this plan.

In July is it likely that Mount Fuji won't be visible.

lol, It's hard to said. It depend of the weather in Mount Fuji. Some times you can see from fall away, but must of the time not.

Only one condition is required, the clear sky. Rainy season around Hakone area is usually end of June to middle of July.
However even rainy season, several clear day is expected.
According to my experience, morning time is good to see Mt.Fuji. After 10 am, Top of Mt.Fuji has chance to covered with cloud. In that case you can see only foot hill of Mt. Fuji.
