Once you get to Peggy's Cove, the traffic is very congested. Many people chose to park on the highway but it is a far walk to the lighthouse if you do. There are two parking lots - one off the highway with a visitors center...More

This iconic Canadian fishing village is a must see for any Atlantic travel. The only problem is the parking. There are cars everywhere. Go early to avoid the crowds.

We arrived mid afternoon and there was people everywhere. You couldn't get pictures of the lighthouse without people in it. We sat on the rocks and watched the waves a bit but we had to climb over the rocks on a spot a little north...More

Be mindful that frequent fogs rolling in from the ocean can diminish the full majesty of this beautiful lighthouse. Best that you find out the local weather conditions before heading out. The drive to the area is also stunning.

Very pretty lighthouse and surroundings. Sometimes difficult to get the perfect photo without people or the restaurant in it. But the setting is gorgeous. Boulders surrounding the area are enormous.

Get here early as there is limited parking and it gets very crowded. We went on a foggy day and there was no parking left. Had to circle the lots for 20 minutes. The site is beautiful and, despite the crowds, was still peaceful. Don't...More

I absolutely loved Peggys Cove even though there was a good bit of fog impacting the view of the lighthouse. I wasn't expecting the landscape to be so stunning and was an amazing place to sit and look st the riicks as the ocean crashed...More

This is an amazing place. Well worth the drive down from Halifax. Great to park and walk around the village. Folks were super nice. They were working on painting the lighthouse but that didn't deter from the views of the ocean and the serenity of...More

The lighthouse is an iconic landmark of Canada and it can be very busy. When you visit, be sure to look in all directions as the different vistas make quite unique pictures. It can be quite busy in peak summer season on a nice day....More

Access to the rocky shoreline around the lighthouse is always open. Most of the restaurants and shops should also be open in September.

Depending on the weather and how long you wish to stare at the ocean and lighthouse. We were there on a blustery day so we stayed 30 minutes tops.

Such a tough decision. To have more accommodation options I would have to say. Lunenburg Mahone Bay Area. Peggy's Cove is beautiful but I believe it would be much nicer in the spring/fall.
