Well even dropping into Mystery Island on a cruise ship there is more than enough room to spread out and find some perfect piece of beach. The locals set up markets which is pretty much the same as all of them in Vanuatu, but they are friendly and it's fun to have a look. Just a very beautiful island, beach... More

We visited New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji during our cruise ship holiday sailing around the Pacific Islands. While all destinations had their charm, Mystery Island was hands-down my favourite location. The local Vanuatu people are extremely entrepreneurial and welcoming, although no one actually lives on the island. There are numerous signs advertising snorkelling tours and the like. However, my recommendation... More

If you are on Mystery Island go to Jimmy's Massage and treat yourself with an hour long massage for $35 AUD. You can't make an appointment it's just a matter of waiting your turn. The ladies give you an excellent massage and find all the spots that need extra work. My husband wants to go back just for the massage.

No one lives on this island, but our cruise ship stopped here and it was really enjoyable. The island is 1 km in length so it's not hard to walk all the way around it. When you get to the island the path leads to a bunch of booths with people offering all sorts of snorkelling and boating tours, kayaking... More

Was thrilled to visit this gem from our Cruise in April 2017. This island is uninhabited (and folklore would insist haunted) but locals from surrounding islands in Vanuatu come to set up market and provide tours around the island. We paid only $20 for a 2 hr snorkel tour and absolutely loved it. Nemo tours is the best tour company... More

This island comes to life when the ships come in and the Vanuatu people come in from the main land on tiny boats, to supply local food and drink, give massages, take you out on tours around the island, sell local clothes and trinkets and show you around. The people of Vanuatu are beautiful people and this island shows its... More

Very warm, sunny clear day when we visited. Swimming great and plenty to see and do on such a small island. The islanders were friendly, enthusiastic and entertaining. Would like to make a return visit.

We went to Mystery Island as one of our stops on a Cruise with P&O March 2017. It is a small island in Vanuatu and it is uninhabited but when the Cruise ships visit the locals take their wares over by boat and set up market stalls. The Island it self is very Beautiful one side of the island the... More

I travelled here as part of a cruise in July 2016. The island is beautiful and it was a great place to swim. The weather was superb and the water was clear and warm. For those with sensitive, I would recommend using a pair of swim shoes that you can either purchase before you leave, or on the cruise ship,... More

Arrived via Carnival Legend on our South Pacific Cruise, we found it the best place to snorkel on the trip as the water was so crystal clear and the shallow water around the reef suited our young traveller
