We only went mud bath and normal sulfur bath and don't know about the park. We are only allowed to stay 20 min at the mud bath, then had to moved to the sulfur bath where we can stay as long as we can (but it is not practical to stay the same bath for long time...) Cost per person... More

We arrived before the first tour. Walked around, and then back to join a tour. It was very informative. A lot more to it than I thought there would be. This is an actual place that was used by the Maori people. Did not do the mud bath. It looked interesting. Did not have time to do both, and thought... More

Hells Gate is one of many Geothermal parks around Rotorua and what made this stand out was the tour. The guide was an old rugby player who brought the park to life. We chose the package with the mud bath and sulphur pool but were a little disappointed. The staff were not very forthcoming in guiding us through the mud... More

We firstly started by sitting in the mud pools. I believe that the mud pools made my skin nice and soft and it was very relaxing experience, however you need to know that they are not 'mud pools' as such but rather spas that you can put mud on yourself. After the mud pool we headed into the bath where... More

Visited Hells Gate today. $75.00 entry fee gets you admission and the use of the mud bath and sulphur baths. It does not get you any customer. Had to ask them to get liquid soap for the showers as all 3 that we tried the dispensers were empty. Do not wear expensive bathers as these baths will strip and fade... More

We booked the ultimate package with park entry, private mud and sulphur spa and and hour's massage. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the massage itself very enjoyable. However the facilities are very tired and in great need of updating, particularly the changing areas. The ladies section had no door on the changing cubicle and, despite there being a... More

Visited mainly to experience the mud baths. Pros: The walk through the park was great, really enjoyed seeing the different pools. We happened upon the wood carving area and took the opportunity to make a small carving - this was an unexpected highlight and we now have a great souvenir for the trip! I also think the sulphur baths made... More

We booked this in advance to relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing & we really enjoyed this. The mud bath was first, cover yourself in mud, let it dry & then wash it off again, 20 minutes in the mud bath. Then into the sulphur pools for as long as you like, one tepid, the other... More
