A nice place to visit and good for wildlife for all tastes and understandings - however let down slightly in the off season by the fact that there isn't much there (nothing they can do about that I understand) and no staff to offer any...More

Is a very pretty little place. There are great walks along the Loch or through the woodland. It's great to feed the coal tits, who will come and feed out of your hand. Can usually also see great spotted woodpeckers and crested tits.

We managed to turn up the day after the centre closed, which was very dissappointing as we had come a long way. But we did not let it spoil our visit and my husband went off with other Birders and walked for miles. I walked...More

Hi Sandra, Thanks for your review of your visit to Abernethy National Nature Reserve. As you say, you came to the reserve out of season, therefore the Osprey Centre facilities are all shut for the winter. The centre isn't heated or insulated, so it really...More

We started at Loch Garten and walked through the forest to Loch Mallachie. Suddenly you have a reall great view about the mirror flat surface of that lake. Great for taking pictures, good light here.

Beautiful place on the edge of loch Garten. Flourishing bird life present throughout the trails at the site. Friendly, knowledgeable staff at the visitor centre with really good signage and viewing facilities. Worth a visit for anyone.

Very kid-friendly, this facility was set up and is maintained by heroes. Happy to give them a donation so future generations can enjoy a view of the impressive protected osprey nest - and help many other creatures.

Yes, but with a little assistance for most people. Reasonably level but unpaved access. Might be best to give them a call as our visit was a while ago now :(

The visitor centre is open from April to August if I remember correctly. You could check online to make sure I am right.
