Biggest part of the square is nice, but on one of the sides is a really ugly newer building. The Cathedral is nice, not very special. The city has not much else to offer.

I've been to places like salento and villa de Leyva and really enjoy them. I too enjoyed tunja and it seems to be a place that's overlooked by tourists. Plenty of places to eat cheap local food and lots of lovely churches and colonial buildings....More

Since this is the city's principal square, everybody has to visit it, from where you can visit the Cathedral, the City's Founder's Home, the Mayor's Office and a very well maintained statue of Simon Bolivar.

This is a nice place in the Center of Tunja - only the modern house of a bet-office disturbes the colonoal essemble. There is a nice Coffe-bar, called the "balcon", opposite of the church. A chilled place for a delicious coffee.
