This is an excellent little museum, far better than I expected from outside. It's packed to the rafters with material and artefacts relating to Staithes on the ground floor, and Captain Cook & his vogues on the first floor. There's a good video upstairs, on...More

Lots to see in traditional displays of photos and articles, it is clearly a collection that has been put together by someone with enthusiasm for all things Captain Cook.

Ignore the Neanderthals who slate this little gem ,they would probably prefer to be at home watching the Kardashians. The educated amongst us however would love this quirky private museum packed to the rafters with interesting and informative displays and exhibits. The lovely elderly lady...More

We visited while staying on holiday in Staithes. It's run by an elderly couple of which the husband was discovered to be asleep in a chair in the upstairs! He proceeded to stay asleep the whole time! Otherwise the museum is full of local info...More
