The lift has recently been refurbished and so is running again after being out of order for a while. It is an interesting tourist attraction as well as being a form of transport for those who cannot manage the steps between the town and the...More

Living all my life on Teesside I am proud of our heritage and engineering feats. This cliff tramway is something to be proud of. The walk up and down the cliff is excellent and certainly something you should do to keep fit but the tramway...More

Thank you smoggie64 the Tramway is a unique treasure which is why the R&C Council have recently refurbished the tramway for another 20-30 years of use.

This is an excellent example of Victorian seaside ingenuity. From the beach to the upper part of the town a ride is only £1. It is a real feature of Saltburn and is worth seeing.

I grew up here and have never yet travelled on this. What a shame. £1 gets you a one way trip. Courteous and friendly staff, beautifully restored. Shame it wasn’t slightly warmer and we had more time or we’d have made more of it.
