The drive down the steep road to get to Assos is well worth it. Those with youthful energy can climb to the imposing Assos Castle. Those of us without were happy just to sit and watch and drink in the beauty.
Visited here when in kefalonia, it is a stunning location to visit. Difficult to park the day we went,as very busy. Plenty to see and do here, and lots of tavernas. A lovely place to visit but would not like to stay here.

Assos is a good option, the beautiful scenery and the short distance to Myrtos beach as well as to the beaches around Fiskardo is an advantage if you have a car. I could also recommend you Sami, which is very close to the the stunning Antisamos beach and its crystal clear water surrounded by beautiful mountains.
