The lake is not worth a visit, the site is crowded with tourists. There is much better to see in the area than Lake Misurina. All car parks are charged and if you park beside the road it is fine insured!

The Misurina lake is one of the very mediocre lakes I saw in the Dolomites. There was nothing much to do. And since we had already seen Lago Di Braies before reaching this place, lake Misurina appeared very disappointing.

This small lake is so popular, I would say "used" and abused, that unfortunately its enchantment and beauty are forgotten, surrounded as it is by dense woods and wonderful groups such as the Sorapiss, the Cristallo, the Cadini and the Cime di Lavaredo .
The place is therefore beautiful, easy and pleasant to go around completely. But too often it is literally invaded by cars and people, not always respectful of this peculiar environment in every season. This is why I don't give full marks.

Very popular destination but worth visiting. Beautiful without a doubt, but I confess that I didn't say WOW like other lakes in the area. We concluded the excursion to the Three Peaks with an easy walk around the lake which takes 30 minutes. There is also a pedalo rental service.

Misurina Lake, nicknamed the "Pearl of Cador", is located in a large valley or what they call the "Dolomite Valley".
This is one of the most beautiful natural lakes in Italy and is also the largest natural lake in Cador, Italy.

Our accommodation was along this lake. It's a beautiful lake. For people who do not want to hike for hours to view a mountain lake this is perfect! This is also easy to find for people with walking difficulties or in a wheelchair. One side of the lake is full of b&bs and restaurants. The other side you have beautiful mountain. There are also pedal boats for rent for a round on the lake.

We walked for a few hundred meters along the lake shore adjacent to the road, observing a couple of listless pedal boats under the cloudy afternoon sky. Being quite close to the Three Peaks is very popular, although the few shops in the area always give that impression of staying in activity only thanks to less savvy tourists.
The most interesting thing is a Dashboard in which the legend of Misurina and Sorapiss is told, also told in a song from when Baglioni was very young.

Lake Misurina is located in the center of the small town of Misurina. The air is always strong and fresh compared to the surrounding areas, the lake is not crystal clear but is surrounded by wonderful landscapes. In summer it is possible to rent and take a pedal boat ride, or you can take the path that runs along the lake (about 1 hour's walk).
For the little ones there is also a small park where they can play with swings and slides.

I've wanted to come and visit these places for a long time and we finally made a stop at the lake before continuing towards the Pusteria valley.
Very beautiful, we did the complete tour, simple and short as it is a small lake.

We would like to drive to Lago di Misurina from Cortina D’ampezzo in October and maybe walk up to get good views of the Tre Cime. Please advise the total cost of toll and parking charges near Rifugio Auronzo.
Thanks.
Written 30 August 2018

Written 3 January 2018
Hi, I am planning to visit Lago di Misurina in late April 2018. Based on the images I've seen at that time year, I can expect to find a lot of snow still about. If so, will driving present any difficulty? I'll be approaching Misurina from the north (starting In Austria).
I'm an Australian with plenty of experience driving in Europe - just not on snowy roads, so that has me a little concerned.
Thanks

what things can be planned on day trip from Selva to Lago misurnia or Lago di braies
Written 13 October 2017
From Selva you should go straight to Braies, have a walk around the lake (1 h 30 minutes) and then drive to Misurina (40 minutes by car).
In Misurina you will find the largest natural lake of the Cadore area.
From Misurina you take the road towards Cortina d'Ampezzo and you go back to Selva.
