All encompassing day out - from the medieval stalls that made up the market in the town and castle to the parade, musicians, camels , donkeys and finially the jousting and sword fighting. There was plenty to eat and drink at reasonable prices as well...More

Dropped in to visit as it was close to the villa we were staying in, quite sparse and not sure it would be worth it if you have to travel a long way. Basically four walls with some buildings inside, little information so do your...More

Definitely worth a stop if you like a bit of history and a wander around the local landmarks. Kids loved finding out about the buildings past and wandering around the perimeter walls for great views of the area. For €1.10 pp (€0.55 for children) it’s...More

Fascinating visit some bits you can virtually smell ancient horses and other bits are ramshackle. Well worth the visit along with a reminder of the Inquisition and the horrors dealt to people in the name of God!

My husband and I decided to stop in Castro Marim for a quick visit and I’m glad we did. The town of Castro Marim is quaint, picturesque, walkable and has several cafes to grab an espresso. The castle is a must see! It dates back...More

If this castle could speak it would have a tale to tell. It is steeped in history and conflict. Very cheap entry at just over a Euro with some nice souvenirs. The museum and the area that brings to life some fairly unpleasant punishments of...More

Just a wall with some building inside. It took us 15 mins to go around. Nice views from the top tower. Could be interesing if they'd had some programs

It is a nice walk, just around Castro Marim Sol. The village is for tourists in Campers...you see them on a special parking space..loading their Campers with beer, white wine..and food..especially in wintertime. Castro Marim is a friendly village.

We enjoyed our visit to this castle, for 1.20 euros you don't expect much but it has great views, still enough of the castle remains for you to get the idea of what it would have been like way back, signs in English, the torture...More

Walk up the cobbled street to see this castle. Views all around over to Spain. Gory exhibition on showing torture instruments, still having nightmares about them. Very basic castle but definitely worth a visit. Lovely town. 1.20 euros.
